Too bad you cant convince the Mrs to jump in a cab. Kincaid's is located on the approach end of the airport in Burlingame and is about a $10/10 minute cab ride. Nice seafood, chops, etc. Love the crab dip there...I can eat that as a meal alone. The dining room has a great view of the approach end of runway 28R/L.
Not a whole lot of options in the aiprot for a good "real" meal.

Thanks for all the tips. Terminal 1 is truly dismal. There is only one sit-down place, which had a Pub-Burger atmosphere (did not try). The SkyClub is located outside of security, which had no priority line on either of our visits. Getting back from landside was a 20+ minute delay. FWIW, the SkyClub was more than adequate for our needs, and not crowded.

+1 this. We had their crab and artichoke dip at their Honolulu location (along with baked brie). That location overlooks the water and lacks those high Waikiki resort prices.

Yeah, T1 is not up the standards of the other terminals. It is definitely dismal from dining to seating.

We just snacked both times. The Mrs had a boat load of work to complete before our outbound, so she was not in an adventurous mood. We promised ourselves a long weekend in the Bay Area sometime soon, so we may get that dining chance after all!

New fancy places in Terminal 2
There are 2 places which looked interesting to me; they are in the new terminal 2.
1) Lark Creek Grill, which is Bradley Ogden's branch from his Lark Creek empire. It's a great reputation, and I've enjoyed eating at his restaurants.
2) Cat Cora. She is an iron chef. She has a branch in terminal 2.

Well, I always enjoyed a nice burger and and beer here:
Anchor Brewing Company
pub food along with specialty beers; table service available
location: Terminal 3, Boarding Area F near Gate 70, post-security
hours: daily, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
phone: 650.821.8911
A word of warning- I was almost always inbound from Ukraine, tired, frustrated and probably hung-over so my evaluation criteria were a little skewed. But when I had to connect to SBP on United it was a nice little tradition.

Napa farms & Ebisu
There is also a Napa farms market, which although I've not been to, seem like a cool place to eat gourmet sandwiches. I did walk in, and they will make gourmet pizzas also. You can see my terminal 2 experience starting at 0:21:

It looked very fancy!
Also, don't forget about noodles at Ebisu in the international terminal. I know you won't eat Sushi, but they do serve great ramen noodles that are hearty and delicious and not very expensive. Great for winter. You can see it here at 0:14. It also pans the food court at the SFO international terminal:

Have fun!

Lark Creek Grill doesn't fare well in Yelp. The star among places to eat in T2 is the Tyler Florence rotisserie hiding in the gourmet market in the back. I haven't eaten there, but the reviews looked good, prices fair, and the food looked good when I went by.
