e-reward expiring currency
I have $50+ e-rewards currency, around $20 of then is expiring at the end of this month. I do not want to redeem for airline point since I can only redeem airline points once a year (as far as I know). if I redeem $20 of my $50 for a magazine subscription, will e-reward use my expiring currency before non expiring currency?

If you don't use them, you lose 75% of your currency. See Section #8c of E-Rewards Membership agreement - FAST - if you're at the end of the 30 days after your membership ends you've only got 7 days to figure out what to do. If it's taken you this long to earn $50, take the miles and run.
You're right about the airmiles...but somewhere, and I can't find it right now, that doesn't mean you can redeem for 2 different airlines during the year, if you're lucky enough to earn that much before next July...try a search on this website....I know I read it here. But I'd dump the currency for whatever miles you can get...rather than lose 75% of $50.!!

only $20 of my $50 is going to expire at the end of this month, if I redeem something for $20, e-reward will use my expiring currency ($20)? I want to use the expiring currency and keep $30 I earned this month, so I can redeem 2000 airline miles after I reached $100. is it possible?

This erewards expirations are ridiculous. Mine expired on June 30 ... I did a survey on June 29, and the "money" I "earned" is going to lose 75% of its value.
Combine this with maximum withdrawals of one per year for most programs, and the fact that I have "$80" in money ... I can't even redeem $50 and $25 from the same program thanks to the stupid restrictions.
The more you look at it, the less erewards makes sense.
Even worse, you think you've earned "$75" which in any normal program would mean 7500 miles ... 1 cent per mile is pretty much the standard. But with erewards, $75 in this the inflated / devalued currency is worth only 1500 miles.
Think about this.
I just got a solicitation for a "survey" which is supposed to take 30 minutes and earn me "$8.50" Never mind that the estimates are routinely exaggerated and it will probably take 45 minutes, especially if you actually know what you're talking about and you get bombarded with "drill down" questions for everything you said "yes" to.
So $8.50 gets you 170 miles! In other words about $1.70 worth of miles. That is if you don't run afoul of mileage expiration, and of restrictions on how much you can transfer to any one program.
Figure you've spent 30 minutes; you're getting "paid" $3.40 per hour.
Go get a job in McDonald's or at Wal*Mart. Even if you earn minimum wage, and you'll do far, far better.

And once again, most people don't fill out surveys as a part-time job. They fill them out as a hobby. I really don't think most people are so misguided as to think filling out surveys will pay the bills. If you value your time more highly, stop filling out the e-Rewards surveys and do something you feel is more productive. And yet, your post on FT took you at least a few minutes to write and you earned absolutely nothing...

Yes, you can only redeem airmiles once per year - but that is once a year from that specific carrier! If you redeemed from CO, you can still redeem with DL and later with NW!

)Note to the OP: there are quite a few existing threads on e-rewards in this forum, discussing the same questions you asked regarding expiring currency, frequency of redemption, etc. You might want to check the info on those existing threads. @:-)

I think it may be important to point out that I'm sensing an annual limit on all redemptions.
My husband regligously redeems every quarter to his HH account. In late May he redeemed for a DL award. I think this was his 5th or 6th reward since Aug 06.
The surveys completely stopped coming. Not a single one since June 2. He's stuck at $47 that has to be used by July 31.
I'm getting multiple surveys every week and haven't redeemed as much as him. I save for the one redemption each year to either CO or AA. I seem to recall this happening to me one year where I redeemed alot.
Anyone else seeing this pattern?

Everyone sees various patterns with e-Rewards, none of which hold true for everyone. I've been on a dry spell since early June as well, but haven't had too many redemptions this year... and today, just got another survey. Many people claim their surveys dry up just as they approach a redemption mark, but that certainly hasn't been true in my case. Many people also claim that surveys routinely take too long to screen out, that they take too long to fill out, etc... which also hasn't been true in my case.
So, while many claim to see various patterns, I believe it's all in the imagination. The surveys are demographically targeted (including gender, occupation, etc.) and not every person qualified for a survey gets invited, since presumably they need fewer respondents than they have qualified individuals.
Just wait it out, a survey will come. Make sure all of your various profiles are updated. If you feel superstitious, try redeeming for an award.

I did.. that's what got him into this mess.
I've been on board with e-rewards for a long time, and it's quite remarkable how they just dry up suddenly. And that suddenly is usually around a points expiration period.
I redeemed a bunch in my account a few years ago, and guess what? I didn't get surveys for months either.
I've been getting several each week while he gets none. Makes no sense at all.

Prior to the last time that I redeemed, I felt the same way. The dry period came right before I reached $50 and then $100. I was scared that I would lose the time I had put into these surveys. I did manage to eek out the
$100 and redeemed. Right after that the surveys came fast and furious. I sensed another dry period at $50 but it never happened. Also, I just topped over $100 today. No dry period what so ever approaching the $100 mark.

But us spend how much time ranting and raving (and not getting paid!)
go figure?
