Banned by My Points!
I was recently banned by My Points because they say I have multiple accounts. Apparently when you use their refer-a-friend feature and the friend actually uses the account they assume you are using both. I signed two people up and they have closed all three of our accounts. They said that we needed to send copies of our ID's to prove we were different people and they would reactivate the account. Well, we did this and now they refuse to respond to any request about our account status.
They refer all question to MYOP, whatever that is, and refuse to answer them. Does anyone have a phone number to call My Points? I have quite a bit of points built up in my account and would like to continue to use their service.

That happened to my Mom several years ago. Even after faxing in her passport and DL info, they still would not budge. Someday I am going to go to SF and take her into their office just to have them tell me how she is not a real person.
A few months later, she opened another account and has cashed out for Red Lobster cards every time she has enough points, as we are always afraid that they will do it again. She can't transfer into Hilton, as she has a mutual account on Hilton and only 1 person can transfer.
I am now the only one who still transfers into Hilton, and that being said, I am the only one who makes any purchases through Mypoints, so they make no income from Mom or Dad, only me; and I only make a new purchase AFTER points post for a previous purchase. They have sucked for years.....

I have had a My Points for a while, when I "Refered a Friend" (myself - twice
) - so now I have 3 accounts (actually only 2 currently as I closed 1 email addy recently). I have been redeeming from all accounts with no problems. And all the "5 point" rewards posted to each.

This sort of thing has been discussed many, many times before (although maybe not in the last month...lol). It is best not to access multiple accounts using the same IP address (generally same computer) in the same timeframe. So even if you have an account for you and your spouse, but you are the one doing all of the activity to gain points, chances are you'll get banned. I don't think I remember reading any "tricks" to help reinstate your account.

If you look them up in the Better Business Bureau system, you can find a phone number for MyPoints.
I haven't called it, but I did use the BBB system to file a complaint (still unresolved) about a 10,000 point offer I completed and didn't get credit for.

I have several accounts myself, but have never had any problem (at least not yet). I do however redeem my points as soon as I get enough for a $25 gift card just in case they do close my accounts someday, (that way I won't have a hard time telling them to shove my locked-out points up their ...). I also only click on their emails from one of my email accounts per day, and use different mailing addresses as well.

In searching the forum, I found this number which I believe could be the same number that I used a long time ago: 888-262-4528
MyPoints customer service has always been helpful and fair to me in the past, hope it works out for you!

Why don't they just state one per household or something like that?
P.S. For those needing to close improperly referred accounts:

Thanks again SharonLPK! I called and was told they would have MYOP's email me with a response. MYOP's not responding was the problem in the first place but I thought I'd wait and see what happed. well, tey never email or called but my account was reactivated. I don't know about my friends accounts (I'll check with them after I get back from St. Croix). My Points customer service is terrible.
Though I'm glad my account was reactivated I would have liked some sort of communication from them, even if it was to tell me to go take a hike.

You're welcome, glad it worked out for you, hopefully you'll get the same resolution for your friends! Seems to me from past experiences that their customer service efficiency depends somewhat on who the rep is that you get, not unlike most companies nowadays...
