I'm shocked that people think this is a bad thing it going away. I actually am a coke zero a holic. I mean in a bad bad way. And there is never anything worth my time to go through the hoops for here. I've burned some points over the years on shutterfly gifts for my parents, but the rest is absolute crap.
I am sure that the new rewards system will be far less generous. Coke drinkers will probably need to produce receipts to earn rewards. No more dumpster diving. |
Got this news this afternoon. I immediately checked the rewards. The one I usually get, a package with 2 AMC tickets, 2 drinks, and popcorn, was gone, and the other AMC ones were "out of stock." Yeah, right. I figured I'd better redeem instantly before there was nothing left but expensive Coke crap. Got $10 certificates for Amazon and Walmart. Any remaining points I enter the next couple of months will probably get spent on sweepstakes.

I don't know how they will verify purchases that way seeing the UPC code is standard unless there is a special code you will scan which seems like would be a pain for 20 oz bottles.
I'm sure this will be an "enhancement" that doesn't benefit the consumer. I will still continue to drink Coke Zero so it won't effect their revenue from me like when a hotel or airline program cuts benefit but this was a nice program while it lasted. Let me clarify: What was I was suggesting is that the new Coke Rewards program may mirror cashback apps like iBotta that requires submitting a receipt, but before doing so also requires scanning the UPC on the package as an additional quality control set to verify the purchase. I was suggesting they'd either require scanning of receipts of Coke purchases via an app-- or as ktremor suggested-- linking via store cards---or scanning a receipt PLUS scanning the UPC with the app to verify the purchase-- not just simply scanning the UPC. Because if it just required scanning a UPC it would be easy to scan the same bottle or can repeatedly. To many, such additional hassle may not be worth it. Completely agree that the elimination of the current program is less consumer friendly. Coke probably thinks that by requiring additional hoops to jump through, they'll have fewer reward redemptions, but bait people with a rewards program to drive sales among certain demographics. Gotta love "enhancements." |
It used to be possible to claim the "Magazine Gold Card" reward for 250 points then opt for a $5 check instead of a subscription. Has anyone tried this recently – does it still work?
Personally I haven’t even been able to log in since the big announcement – everyone must be trying to input points & redeem while rewards are still available (like I’m trying to). |

Ugh, I keep getting that stupid "sorry the promotion is over. your code is no longer valid" error.
All 14-character codes. Mike |

Talk to "Chip" though I don't see him once logged in. Just got 18 points credited, but I had to provide my birthdate and a few other things. |
They're still selling stuff with codes, so it may be that the points are going away but the codes will be used for something else (sweepstakes entries?).
Note that the splash page says Soon, getting rewarded with your codes will be easier, more fun, and more convenient than ever before. |
HomeBowl 2017
I entered some Coke Zero codes this morning -- in my point history, the 12 packs are listed as:

I tried it a few days ago. On the last step it gave a general error so I emailed support and they replied I can send them my code and my mailing information and they would put me in for the check. I am assuming they did, never got a confirmation. I had not previously tried for a $5 check but did get a magazine prescription.
PS: I had never had any problems logging in since the MCR devaluation. I also got the error & contacted support, and they replied very quickly to say "We have processed your request for the $5 option . Your check should arrive by March 15th and will be from Magazine Gold." If I can get 2c per point this way then I'm happy. On the other hand, if a ton of people start doing this I don't know how unhappy Magazine Gold will be. |

I use the award to renew/extend my subscription to Conde Nast Traveler, a great magazine for a frequent flyer, and even when the subscriptions are on sale or discount, they run $12 to $14 for 12 issues. |
I've cleaned out every one of my stinking accounts down to the very low triple digits. For me the value were in the Domino's and Amazon gift cards;
I've got so many now, I've had to put a spreadsheet together to keep track of them all LOL |
I got the email from Coke telling me that they are phasing out the My Coke Rewards (politically correct) program. Well when it started, 2000 Coke points gave 40,000 Hilton HHonors points if one had one (1) stay with them----really simple getting 1000 ten point certificates inside recycling bins per week with an unlimited number of points to put in one's account per week. Did it twice before the very first Coke devaluation. Today, it's 550 points with a 75 point limit per week to get a cheap [Made in Indonesia] T-shirt, with elite levels of membership----what a joke.
Good riddance to it. I knew Trump would fix it by signing an executive order ending the program. :p |
I logged into my account but get a blank screen when I hit rewards tab. Too many people redeeming? :(
