Zzzzzz

Wow! Over a month and a half and not even an extra page added to this thread,,,,Perhaps the 'New" coke social media gurus should reconsider what people think of their wonderful and exciting redesigned program! I for one would much rather have a single $5 gift card again over a 1 in 2 million chance to meet Taylor Swift. Ah well, hopefully I can cash out the rest of the points with this years 3 days of Christmas promotion.

I agree with you. The new coke rewards campaign is extremely boring. I am not going to tweet, Facebook or otherwise annoy my friends advertising for Coke. The opportunity to participate in a sweepstakes that I will not win just does nothing for me. The old way was exciting, always the possibility to snag bonus points or pick up a gift card or play a game in which you actually had the chance in winning a small prize. Before this "new" social media "mycokerewards", I drank a coke a day, now I drink, maybe a coke a week. There is no incentive for me to buy extra coke products just to accumulate coke points. The good part is I am finding other beverages to spend my money on that I like as well as and maybe even better than my usual coke-a-cola...

I agree completely. I've got about 3600 points, and come Christmas I hope to use them all. The current program isn't worth it. tls

Not doing anything but saving black caps for March Madness.

Not sure about the real odds, but in our case, the luck struck. While we declined the prize, we did win 2013's Taylor Swift prize. Sadly, we couldn't schedule around the planned wedding that we were a part of and had to decline the trip.

Congratulations! You have been selected as a potential winner in Win a Trip to See Taylor Swift in Concert from Diet Coke®, administered by ePrize for The Coca-Cola Company.

You have potentially won a trip for two (2) to Nashville, TN to see a Taylor Swift concert on the Sponsor's choice of September 19, 20 or 21, 2013. Your prize package consists of round trip, coach-class air transportation for two (2) from a major airport near your home, round trip ground transportation between the airport and hotel and hotel and concert venue, one (1) nights' accommodations at Sponsor's choice of hotel (single room, double occupancy), two (2) tickets to the Concert, and $200 spending money.
Not in disagreement, however, that this year's coke site had been underwhelming to epic levels.

I joined MCR pretty recently (only a few months ago) so it seems like I missed out on it when it was, apparently, "better." I've tried searching the thread, but have a hard time finding it, so can somebody quickly say what the main changes are - and what all this Christmas and March madness is that everyone keeps talking about? Thanks.

At Christmas, they've typically had a promotion where there were a number of redemption options available at highly discounted numbers of points- think '12 Days of Coke Fun'.

March Madness has been some sort of special promotion for the men's NCAA basketball tournament that involves either Coke Zero/caps or being heavy users of the alter nate method to entry to get spots. You enter your code and will be assigned a spot- say #11 seed in the South region of the tournament bracket, the NCAA fills in those teams and prizes are awarded based on how far your teams go in the tournament. They distribute the seeds so there are a lot more people have #15 and #16 seeds than there are #1-#4 seeds to try to minimize how much Coke pays out but have been burned a few times in recent years when a team like Florida Gulf Coast makes an unexpected run.

My all time favorite promo was the Family Dollar 'stuck on the pole' game, which for about two days let you play a short Flash game an unlimited number of times. This was concurrent when they had IHG points, so I spent a weekend pretty much running the game a few times and then cashing out for 500 IHG points as quickly as I could.

I think I got like 10K IHG points from it and it hooked me on the points & miles collection big game.

Christmas is when mycokerewards provides gift card, ecert, and movie tickets, and a few other items at significantly reduced levels. You can see inside the wiki what was offered in 2014 at the top of this thread. (just crossed out). The levels weren't changed from prior Christmas pricing from 2013. It's not guaranteed the same levels will be offered for 2015 however as mycokereward has changed significantly.

Best of March Madness was when Black caps provided random assignment of the 64 championship teams. Usually a high ranking team were rare in comparison to the 16th tier team. Each time your designated team advance, a prize was given ranging from music download, free 20oz coke zero to variety of gift cards and entries to top tier contest. It was a lucrative promotion as if you were fortunate to be assigned a high ranking or winning team, you got several prizes for that single entry.

ooh wow, that sounds awesome. Definitely saving up all my points for Christmas, then....and looking forward to it. i could use all those IHG points.

Also, I've totally become that weird person in my building (condo association) who takes bottle caps off other people's bottles in the recycling room. I mean, if they're not going to use them why shouldn't I?

As long as no one sees you, no harm done.

It's when you start hanging around the Wells Fargo Center after a Sixers game, picking up the caps from the bottles on the floor before the cleaners get to them, THEN you have a problem.

Heh, I follow sports so little that I wouldn't even know where to find a sports stadium for that kind of thing. (and besides, don't most of them sell pepsi anyway?) My university consumes coke products insanely for every reception, though, and if they just leave the boxes with the codes lying around they're asking to be taken...

Unfortunately Pepsi has pouring rights at the sports venues by me. A couple years ago I broke my femur and was put in a rehab hospital for a few weeks and they carried diet Vernors and diet Sprite in their fridge and had a lot of twelve packs. I asked the aide stocking the fridge if I could have the flaps off the diet sprite packs and he gave them to me and said another patient had asked him for them earlier that year. He was clueless about the program and said he has thrown a lot of the cardboard cases in the recycling containers and was glad I told him about the program

October 20 for popular rewards

Just as they did over the summer, mycokerewards is making noise about new rewards being uploaded to its mycokerewards site on October 20 for the "popular awards".

Quote:

Coming soon: We’ll be offering new rewards and past favorites for a limited time. Gold Status members get first dibs, starting 10/20.
While the award levels (during summer release) was nothing to crave about, it did provide some useful rewards while it was available. Some awards remained for almost a week, while others sold-out within the first few days.

Be forewarned, however, that Holiday rewards, if offered in Nov/December, might be better, as it had always been offered at a significantly discounted levels. There is however no guarantee that past holiday promotion will occur in 2015 however.

I still don't see any of those "specials" being more valuable than a 20 oz Coke for 55 points. They charge a minimum of $1.50 for these where I go (CVS, convenience stores, grocery store, etc). $5 at McD is barely 3 times the value but is nearly 7 times the points?

Double Points

I have just learned from the My Coke Rewards website that there will be double points from Oct 21st to Oct 23rd.

I have just loaded all of my caps for the week to prepare for the October 20th release of discounted gift cards. :-(

Hope this news helps someone.
