Agreed. They've taken a worthwhile program and changed it so much with code entry limits, diminished rewards, and now the stupid requirements for liking and tweeting and sharing. Hard to believe this is the same program that at one time got our family tens of thousands of Delta Skypesos and IHG Priority Club points. I'm about at the point where if they have another blowout on GC in December I may just cashout and give up on MCR. (And that's coming from a fairly loyal consumer of Coke products, so I have no problem collecting codes.)

I'm with you, I won't do the social media garbage. That said, there is a fairly easy way around it. Just log in, go to "Interests", find a video that indicates you will get status points without any sharing requirement, and click on it. (For starters, there are a couple of recipe videos in the Food & Wine section.) Then go check your email or surf the web for a couple of minutes. When it's done, check your "Notifications" at the top right corner of the page. It should indicate that you've just earned status points for watching the video, and the 30-day clock should then theoretically reset. Rinse, repeat. An incredibe waste of time. :td:

I'm in the same boat as you, except that I am concerned that the loss of status might mean fewer redemptions opportunities. If I'm recalling correctly, Walmart and Amazon are only available at certain status levels, and those are the ones that would interest me. Right now I'm saving all my points for the year end offerings, and last year certain award were 1st available only for those who had Gold status, although eventually became available to all (can't remember if any of the year-end rewards were always limited to those with status).

Hopefully it doesn't come to loss of status, or at least that Bob's suggestion works (and thanks to Bob for the idea!). tls

I also refuse to participate in most social media, as I do not have a Facebook account; a Twitter account; a Google Plus account; or an Instagram account. For me, much of it would be a waste of time for me — and I certainly have no interest in participating in ways to achieve and retain status in the My Coke Rewards program.

I even refuse to post on FlyerTalk...

That's my interpretation of MCR's email:

Did you know? If you don’t participate in activities designated with + Status every 30 days you’ll level down to your previous status.

Remember, a higher status unlocks access to expanded reward catalogs and gifts. Try and share a fun activity below to maintain or increase your status.

As jiburi recently noted from the new terms:

----------
F. Status
If Sponsor in its sole discretion determines that a Member has become inactive in participation in Activities on the Website, Sponsor may decrease the Member’s status which may result in a change in the Member’s Status Level. A member will receive a notification of Sponsor’s intent to decrease a Member’s status prior to any such decrease.
----------

As long as an email is sent prior to dropping down, things should be OK. One should be able to perform some action that may not require a social media account to earn "status" points. In the past, simply logging-on would earn "status" points, but it is unclear if that will be enough to maintain Gold level (and access to the best rewards) in the future.

I plan on letting one account drop down from gold to silver and then hope to double dip on bonus points from going from silver to gold again. We'll see if anything even happens which would be later this month or sometime in September

Monthly Interaction Requirement!

I got this email too on 8/4. Seems odd they say the above, when only they changed the terms on June 23.

I think it was sent to everyone, as I participated during June and July in social media for mycokerewards purposes. My status would have been fine.

So it's happening, and its monthly.

Ozzy, thanks for doing the experiment to see what happens.

I also read the recent email as a general announcement of the new change. I do not think it was a warning about the account (attached to the email) being in danger of losing a status level (if no action was taken).

For anyone that got in for the 0 point lemonade flavored powerade last week they are sending out shipping notices and it appears they are actually sending out the 32 ounce bottle, not a coupon. ...!

"This notification is confirmation that your Lemonade flavored POWERADE has been shipped via FEDEX by our distribution center"

*Update.........
Well, the Lemonade flavored piss water arrived. Glad it was 0 points as it was awful :td:
