$10 Nike GCs were 225 points each during the Christmas promotion (unlimited) and now they are 560 points??? No thanks.

Also, the AMC reward was only 200 points at Christmas.

I contemplated getting HH points a few years back and everyone said to wait, there will be better offers, like in the past ....... :rolleyes:

I got in the game late when the good times were on the way out, if not already gone, and even since then the game has lost most of the luster.

I understand the value differential. Christmas time has always offered greater discount on the GC. I think the $50 Nike GC was often 2000 points when it started 10 years ago. While it's not nearly as good of a value, it does offer to bring back some of the value from 10 years ago.

I guess it's a good value, only if you wanted to redeem it for immediate use and/or to be done with it....

I have been in this since about day one; I've picked up HH, DL, IHG and whatever other travel awards have been made available. some were great deals at the beginning; then they became more expensive but I kept redeeming and I've kept saving codes right to the present. However I have not seen any travel rewards in a long time.

If so they will be more expensive than ever you can bank on that.

I get my codes mostly for free so other than the royal PITA time it takes to enter codes, its mostly a non issue for me.

Yea, the best 1st year reward I think was 200 points for Hilton Restaurant $20 Gift certificates. Now points had been decimiated to so little.... less than quarter of its original value.

It's a welcoming return of an amazing 2015 promotion but don't get too excited. Juice Caps seem to work fine but this year, black caps atop 20oz beverages don't seem to work. 2016 cap requirement is also an increase of 66% from 2015 promo of 6 caps for each certificates.

Other downsides are (1) the drop in value from $13 to $10 and (2) the fact that it doesn't appear that the rewards can be converted to gift cards, which was a nice feature of last year's promo.
