MyPoints posting of points is awful

MyPoints revamped their web site, which involved getting rid of all points history for <3 months ago, getting rid of all the monthly subtotals, and forcing all users to accept HTML email.

As if that weren't bad enough, I've not had a single item post unaided in the last 3 months apart from the 5-point email clicks. Every purchase (Safeway, Entertainment Book, etc) and every one of those silly "surveys" for 10 or 20 points have only posted after I've emailed customer service and had them do it manually. The new site looks prettier, but what a gigantic time waster they have become.

I've stopped using them except to click on emails.

I'm doing far better using airline portals.

Same here-I only use MyPoints for sites that are not available through any other portal.I have given up chasing points--and now that the Hilton redemption has been raised,it will be a long time before MyPoints is of any value to me.

I don't have a problem getting Office Depot points to post. That plus the emails is pretty much all I do.

I'm still arguing with them over a Barnes and Noble order that was sent in two shipments. The first shipment posted, the second didn't. When I asked for those to be credited, I got the, "Wait 30 days," then when I asked again, I got "You didn't use the exact same name (one was hyphenated, one was just the last part of that name) as your account, so we won't post them."

If the points for my latest order to ship in 2 sections doesn't post, then I'll refer to both of them.

This discussion reminds me of the emails I had to send to get them to credit my Ent. Book purchase a few months ago. But since I don't use many partners, wasn't sure if it was just a snafu with the one or whether it was more widespread.

I have not yet redeemed my points for any gift certificates. How long does it take to get voucher for a merchant like United?

They are also quite officious. When Safeway didn't post, they asked me for the confirmation email. When I sent it to them, they said it wasn't good enough, since it didn't contain the final total. Yeah, but it's what they send! So we went around in circles for a few emails before they relented and posted the points.

Worse was Vistaprint, who didn't send me a confirmation email. I waited the month, requested the points and told them that there was no confirmation email. Of course, they ignored me and asked for the confirmation email. I told them the order number, but that wasn't enough. I offered to send them a screen dump of the order off the web site, but they won't accept attachments. They finally relented and posted the points, but what a gigantic hassle.

cesare, if you search this forum, you'll find discussions which answer your question.

So do I - except that many of the emails that I receive DO NOT have any links to click on! So I do not even get credit for reading the email.

the_traveler, do you really mean no link in your email, or the link is simply unclickable?

If it is the latter, I get those kind of emails once in a while. It appears to be some coding problem since I can see the red "Get Points" but they are unclickable. However, I learned a trick to still get the 5 points.

Simply forward the original emails to yourself. Somehow it will fix the coding problem and you can now earn your clicking points. ^

Wait until you try and redeem for those Hilton Points. I redeemed twice for a total of 5,000 points 8 weeks ago. NO POINTS YET. But they are great at sending back a canned email telling you to wiat 30 days and then when the 30 days is up they send you one that says they are looking into it and wait another 30 days. Can't wait to hear what the next excuse wil be.

I'm sure they will blame Hilton and please wait another 30 days.

I've also had problems with MyPoints lately. Purchases on entertainment.com and ftd.com didn't post automatically. Redemption for Hilton is still pending (about one week). Latest purchase at overstock.com hasn't posted. All e-mails properly credited though (at least I think so).

It took me two faxes to get Entertainment Book points. Now I am waiting for Hilton to post. Mypoints is quick to take the points out of your account but very slow to give you the redemption. I'm sure they will blame it on Hilton but it wasn't that way before they revamped. Everything posted promptly before.
