Just wanted to update my earlier Rewards posting. The program changed vs what I posted before. You no longer have to spend $50 in a month to earn towards the Holiday Savings account. 5% of all purchases will count. Also, there's no longer a one per quarter limit on the shopping day. Any month you spend more than 50 bucks you'll get a 10% off shopping day good the entire following month.

There should be big to-dos in all your stores this week. Grab a free card; there's no reason not to.

I just joined Borders Rewards and have a question: the coupons' standard disclaimer states "not valid on special orders"; does anyone have any experience as to whether this is actually enforced? I would buy other stuff from them, rather than Amazon, if they would compete beyond store-stock-only.

From past conversations, my impression is that they're pretty lax with that kind of procedural fine print stuff, but I don't know about this case.
