I got the e-rewards reply too- record time for them. However, I currently have $49.20. I can only use $25... isn't it completely bogus that since they don't have any rewards for less than $25, I stand to lose those that I don't spend?

I agree with you Dave. You have to hand it to there guys... they are really smart. I just redeemed $25 for a measly 1,000 AA miles. But, I dont get the miles upfront, I will only get them after I purchase my next trip on AA.com!!!! There guys are amazing...

It gets worse... I cant use my 'reward' until May 1st.... just got this email:
Thank you for your participation in e-Rewards, the program that rewards you for reading and reacting to e-mail that has been screened to match your interests.
You will receive your reward of 1,000 AAdvantage(R) bonus miles in addition to any other bonus miles you may qualify for when you use AA.com to purchase a one-way or round-trip flight on American Airlines, American Eagle, or AmericanConnection and travel between May 1, 2003 and July 31, 2003. Miles will be credited after travel is completed. Bonus miles do not count toward elite status qualification. Bonus will be posted within 3-4 weeks after flight activity is posted to the traveler's AAdvantage account. Bonus applies to person traveling. No registration is required.
Watch your e-mail in the weeks ahead for e-Offers and e-Research opportunities for which you can earn e-Rewards dollars. Earn enough e-Rewards and you can redeem for a choice of Rewards including AAdvantage Bonus Miles.
Sincerely,
The e-Rewards Team

I totally agree. It doesn't seem fair that E-Rewards can punishes us for leaving balances under $25 when in fact these rewards cannot be redeemed even if we wanted to. They should make exceptions for these small balances, and allow them to carry over to the next year.</font>

Last year I had $24.95 in my account on March 30. I emailed the company asking for 5 cents so that I could redeem.
Their reply was to close my account and take the $24.95. No communication from them at all.
I called their HQ and asked for their marketing department. I explained what happened and how I thought it was bad business to close someone's account without explanation.
I had a call back within 1 hour with a resolution. My account was reopened and I was given an additional $25 for my trouble.
Needless to say, I really don't trust them very much. We shouldn't have to call the marketing department to get a problem fixed. I now cash in as soon as I can. I redeemed all my points last week.

I have been less than happy with e-rewards over the limited use of the AA bonus (have to actually fly) and the Hertz certs. However, I have to admit that they fulfilled my HHonors points redemption very quickly. I requested it yesterday and this morning the points are in my Hhonors account.

I must give a thank you to Gaucho100k for posting this thread. It reminded me to get my points out of e-rewards. I had been procrastinating to the last minute in an attempt to get to the next point level first. Alas, I waited until April 1st, and when I saw this thread, it reminded me that I missed the deadline. I immediately checked my account at e-rewards to see how much they deleted from my account, but to my pleasant surprise, all the points were still there. I immediately transferred as much as I could to Hilton, and the points have already posted at Hilton. So, thanks for the reminder Gaucho100k.

I earned over $225.00 e-rewards last year, including the current Jan - March 2003 period. I was able to redeem them for HHonors points, blockbuster certificates and AA miles. I'm not quite sure how I've managed to get so many offers compared to others, but rather than waiting until the last day to redeem, I simply redeemed a few days prior to the deadline date to avoid what others are unhappy about by waiting until the last moment. Granted, I had enough points for various redemptions, whereas some folks mentioned that all they needed were $0.05 to complete a $25.00 reward, but I don't feel cheated by this program, perhaps because I've benefited more than others have. I'll enjoy my free HHonors points, my bonus AA miles and my 15 free rentals from Blockbuster, thanks e-rewards. Sure I lost some points once 3/31 rolled around, but I still enjoy participating in this free program.
