Mypoints: WAITING: redemption for Marriott
About 9 weeks ago I redeemed 1500 mypoints for 1000 Marriott points in both my husband's and my accounts. I am still waiting for paper certs via mail.
I emailed mypoints cust. service after about 5 weeks. They said to wait 6-8 weeks. No answer to my last email a few weeks ago.
Last fall I redeemed a few of those for just my account and had them within 2 weeks or so. Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that this was the first time we redeemed for an additional family member? Why so fast last fall and so slow now?
My 1500 points show up as completely gone. My husband's as pending to be gone. Has anyone ever found a CS phone number to call?
Thanks for any feedback. I want to make some more purchases from the site but am hesitant. I remember the threads last fall about them freezing additional household accounts. I hope those all got worked out.

About 6 weeks ago, I tried to redeem for gift certificate. Eventually my pending redemption was cancelled with no email, nothing. I went in and sent my points to hilton and had no problems and it was immediate. This is the only thing I am redeeming now as I have had to much trouble else where.

Thanks FAYE and GCLINK! I got an email today telling me to provide my address. I thought they already had that when I registered! Another stall tactic?
I don't want to even pursue my husband's missing cert til I have mine in hand.
I guess I will be forced to do the Hilton points in the future to avoid the hassle. I prefer Marriott points as it is my gut feeling that since Hilton so easily gives away points they will be harder to use in the future.

Same thing just happened to me. I redeemed some Alaska air certs. Site showed a date of 3/20/02 for about a month(since submitting the order)
Today no sign of pending order, points placed in account again and all are listed as available.
Getting a little tired of this stuff, just delaying tactics. Maybe they are going under.

Same happened to Mr. Honu when ordering Marriott points. Sometimes they send them quickly, some other times the points stay in a pending mode for weeks and then are posted back into the account. I suspect it may have to do with availability of certs, i.e., if they've just run out and new certs are on order, lots of requests may slip through the cracks. That's probably why this problem doesn't usually occur with HHonors points (no certs there). Although, come to think of it, I *did* have a similar problem with transfering Mypoints to my HHonors account a while ago....

Yep, same problem for me with the Alaska Airlines certs. I placed an order for one at the beginning of February, and it just showed up as "Pending." Finally, a few days ago they redeposited the points to my account and cancelled the order. I've been ordering these certs since Mypoints began, and this is the first time this has happened. I normally received my cert within a week. I'm HOPING it's simply because they've temporarily ran out of them!

Normally I get Marriott certificates pretty quickly. I've had 1500 points pending for 2 weeks.
I've order 3 certificates in the past 3 months. 2 have come very promplty. I'm waiting for the third.

2 success stories:
I redeemed for Exxon gas certificates with MyPoints. It took almost 3 weeks before it arrived.
I've also transferred some points from MyPoints to HHonors, and it posted in about a week. No problems what so ever.

I sent another email to mypoints. No answer. No results. The 1500 points have been removed from both of our accounts.
I even told mypoints that I wanted to spend $500-1000 at Walmart from their site soon and would like a reply and resolution before I do so.
This morning I sent an email to UAL.COM asking for a phone number for mypoints.com. Is it unusual that we have no phone number for contacting mypoints?
Even this board has been quiet about mypoints for a while now. Thanks for any further feed back.

Follow up
I had 1500 points sitting in my cart for a Marriott certificate for almost a month.
Today, the points were returned to my account - the redemption request is not even showing up in account activity.
Maybe they're out of certificates?

Six months ago I redeemed MyPoints for Marriott points. I waited and waited, e-mailed repeatedly, got all kinds of excuses about how it was "pending" and "had been sent" but was then "pending" again, and "had to be researched", etc. Finally, a Marriott certificate appeared, with an ominous letter telling me that as a "courtesy" they were replacing my certificate, but the replacement was a "one time" occurrence as MyPoints was not liable for certificates that were lost in the mail. I counted my blessings, but vowed never again to redeem for anything that could be "lost in the mail". I also have two numbers for reaching MyPoints, but it's been a LONG time since I used them, so they may have changed: 888-262-4528 & 888-333-6260

JCareyB: Thanks so much for the phone numbers. That's a big help. The first number put me thru to a CS Rep named Joe, who says he will research it and call me back.
Dare I ask him about my husband's account or does that send up another red flag?

Now mypoints has disabled both of our accounts. Joe didn't call back and does not answer when I tried him back. Aggravating!

For what it's worth, less than two weeks ago, I redeemed 1000 MyPoints for 1000 Hilton points. The 1000 points were "pending redemption" for a few days...and once they were no longer pending, I checked my HHonors account and the 1000 points were there.
