I believe if you view from a link without signing in - the person doesn't get credit for the views because only views by members count.
so- sign in FIRST then do a search on for the guide - then view (and rate if you wish)

I think if you view for the first time and don't get the rate box you are not signed in

I'm working my way through the fters and have added each to my "favorite guide" list so I can check easily

In any case, you will not get a rating box if you previously read that entry. If someone adds entries to a journal and I come by to read I can't rate ones I previously rated.

I marked the marked the "remember me" box so I am automatically logged in.

Natalie, was it you who won 2 AA tickets to anywhere in the US? I just got my Igougo newsletter via email and it listed Natalie as the winner and TravelQueen 2001 as a runner up. Is this our TravelQueen, or (alas) another?

Sorry I did not answer your nice note but I have been reading your stuff (and others as well), the remember me box doesnt seem to work if I click on a link to get to new postings - even though it does remember me if I go to the site thru a url http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif

I first noticed this when I didn't get a rating box for a journal I hadn't read before so I went back and logged in so the person would get credit.

I think I remember reading that points are only added for views in the first 90 days- but now I can't find it again- anyone know?

I also have a question: does the Igougo software prevent one from voting twice on something? I was reading someone's list of reports and can't remember where I left off. If I voted a second time for one I've already read, would it count again or even let me vote again?

Thought I'd leave this question in even though I just discovered the answer to the question: I logged in and viewed spuguru's list of journals. I wasn't sure if he'd added any new ones, so I checked one I already knew I'd read and, sure enough, when you scroll down to vote, there isn't a pull-down menu. (Perhaps, maple, this is how it appeared that one of your pages didn't have a voting thingy--I must have already voted for that one.)

Anyway, I decided to go back through everyone's journals to see that I didn't miss anyone. I'll have to do that this afternoon when I have a good block of time.
