Unfortunately these have closed for the current offers, but here is what I did

I do not have a Sams membership (live alone and have no need for a 55 gallon drum of Mayo)......but you can get a single day membership for FREE!! and with that you pay 10% above the regular prices

Now to this specific offer Sams sells Lipton Lemon Tea Powder for $5.93 per canister and it is enough to make 9.5 gallons so the two of them was basically $12 dollars

Personally I am trying to drink fewer Cokes lately (and I am mad at Coke specifically so they are on the "do not buy" list now) and I have been drinking a lot more tea as of late (the gallon jugs for $2.68 @ Walmart)

Tap water in my city is sadly a no-go because of the taste so bottled water is a must no matter what even though I am a tap water fan in general

I can get a gallon for $.25 at the water windmill and with the Sams Club Lipton Tea (that I have found I like) I am many dollars ahead VS buying gallon tea and probably break even for making tea at home with any method

And with the 3,000 MyPoints the way I calculate them is 9,000 points gets you a $50 Visa Gift Card so 50/9000 = .00555

So .00555 X 3,000 = $16.65 so I am getting PAID $4.65 to save money using Lipton Lemon Tea Powder over buying gallon jugs of tea and it is still probably a fantastic deal from even using tea bags (which also qualify for the MyPoints purchase @ Sams, but those come in like a 5,000 count or something silly like that)

I actually got this offer 3 times from MyPoints and all 3 had different offer #s and I actually did it two times and I have been credited for one so far and expect (hope) to get the next credit very soon and as a bonus with it I was out of town seeing relatives for the holidays and they had a Sams card and were going to Sams so I tagged along with them and did not even have to pay the extra 10% for the second time

So I now have powered tea in sufficient quantity to supply the British Army for a few days (although probably not their style haha)

A double bonus is you can get those great Sams Baguettes yummy!

And another thing that might have been mentioned in this thread and I missed and the reason I was going to post in this thread before reading the above comment

As I said 9,000 MyPoints = $50 Visa Gift Card

BUT

There are better deals than that IMO for those that do a lot of grocery shopping

PayPal 8,950

Walmart is 7,800 points for a $50 dollar card

Kmart is 7,250 for a $50 dollar card

and the real kicker

Sears 7,000 for a $50 dollar gift card and 12,850 for a $100 dollar gift card

And from all I have read you can in fact use a Sears gift card at Kmart and I even called my local Kmart and ask and their answer was "It should work, but if it doesn't then it won't" (ah the greatness of American retail service and help!).....BUT everything I have read online tells me that you can use a Sears gift card at Kmart

So for those that buy a lot of common items (that Walmart and Kmart can't screw up somehow) and you know you will easily spend $50 or $100 dollars there in short order (the gift cards never expire, but who knows when Sears and Kmart might expire haha) you can spend only 3,850 more MyPoints and get $50 more for them over and above a Visa Gift Card if you go with the Sears $100 card and use it at Kmart (or of course at Sears if you need an appliance, ToughSkins for your Munchkin or tools or some item you like from Sears)

and when you look at the above Lipton Tea deal using that math

100/12850 = .007782 X 3,000 = $23.346 so I spent $12 dollars on 2 canisters of powdered tea to make 19 gallons total of tea.....I have found I like the product, it saves me money over what I was buying and I was PAID $11.346 to make that purchase

And I am hoping in the next few days I will in fact get the credit for the second of the two offers I took advantage of (and if I do I will kick myself for not doing the 3rd as well )

Sorry for the long second post love the forum look forward to learning much more in the future!

TV

and PS

I think another great offer was 10,000 MyPoints for $19,99 in tokens for that stupid GSN website that was a worry for me to do, but I got the points now I need to figure out what the hell you do on GSN to make any money, but I am still over $30 ahead on that one and if GSN would quit locking my account for not "participating" and only logging in each day to get more free tokens

I think I had the same issue with GSN after taking advantage of a MyPoints offer a couple years ago. They locked my account, I never contacted them to find out why. I suspect that it may be because I was just logging in and playing the free games for more free tokens? Did you contact them and that is what you were told was the reason for your account being locked?

I contacted them and was told they they automatically lock the accounts of people that log in and only collect more tokens for logging in and the do not conduct any other activities

My account was reopened, I let them know that InBoxDollars (or some other points site) had created a GSN account for me automatically and I had no interest in that account and wished it to be closed so I would not be accused of trying to use more than one account and it was closed and I was given some tokens (something like 25K maybe more) for the trouble

I believe they tried to do it again not to long ago and it was opened again quickly and then I realized I was locked out of the cash games and had the prior emails and replied to it and the cash games were opened. I now basically have one of their support people that recognizes me and will reopen my account for me as needed.

At this point I really do not care as I am +$30 on the deal and never cared about GSN, but I log in almost daily to get the tokens and one day I may try and figure out what to do with the stupid things to try and at least get $19.99 of value out of them if not more, but as of now I will take the $30 "profit" and waste time figuring out GSN another day.

5 Points for visiting website emails gone?

Anyone notice that MyPoints have not been sending emails that offer 5 points for visiting a retailer's site any longer? I only need about 150 points and I'm dumping MyPoints once and for all!

P.S.: The new MyPoints website is horrible, they purposely do not have a link for Rewards (one has to go into the FAQ). All of a sudden, the font looks too large as if everyone has to comply to the legally blind; hence, destroying everyone's eyesight in the process. This quasi-mobile compliance garbage is destroying everything.

I'm still getting several 5 pt emails per day. The link for rewards is the gift box square to the right of your points at the top of the page. Not as clear as it could be, but not purposely missing either.

And I just got another Mypoints email inviting me to join Costco. So it seems I get them every 2 months. tls

For those who have done this, how exactly does the Costco membership work when you already have an active membership. Ours expires next month. I read where someone indicated that as long as you let the membership lapse that you can used MyPoints to renew?

No Sears within a couple hours drive from me, but I got a Sears card through MyPoints and it works at my local K-Mart (which started carrying a couple Sears items. I have to hand the card to the cashier to swipe it on their register rather than on the swiper for customers. It appears to be handled like a gift card I think.

I have earned thousands of points responding to mypoints surveys but made a decision today going forward to skip any from ipsos. How many flipping times do I have to reenter my zip code and age? I realize they're trying to qualify me for different surveys but jeez louise, it's frustrating! Can't I type something in and have it stick until I move off their site? Sometimes the same data is requested 5 or 6 times before I give up in disgust. No more!

I agree about having to re-enter the same info over and over.

Also, I have a couple of flash blockers and have set them to ASK to enable. The surveys briefly show a popup to enable flash but a second later disappear before I can click ALLOW.

I may be missing some surveys because of that, however even before the flash blocker, I qualified for very few surveys. One of the reasons is being in a zip code that is half way to Japan. That kinda precludes having many of the services and products that they want to ask about. OH, we have Walmart and Costco and so on, but our Dish TV is different, many products are more expensive and so on.

Also, my friend also does MyPoints and says that he qualifies for lots of surveys because of his answer to the "Are you Hispanic?" question.

So I am an old Caucasian, live in the boonies and if it wasn't for my farm income would be retired.

I also dislike the format of the new "improved" website and being able to find redemptions easily.

I am minutes away from cashing in my points for my last reward and will clear the intray of MyPoints.
