Ryanair delay dispute

We flew back from Marrakech in June to London Stansted. Our flight was due to depart at 2015 and arrive at 2350. While we were called for boarding, there was an extensive delay and we ended up not departing until around the time of our scheduled arrival. We arrived into London at 0255 the next day. The reason given was that our inbound plane was rerouted due to bad weather. We have claimed compensation from Ryanair and raised a dispute withe the Aviation body. Do we have a claim as the issue was not with our flight, nor with the weather at Marrakech (flights seemed to depart and land throughout, or certainly throughout most, of the duration of our wait). In that sense, the issue was one of rotation and lack of aircraft on Ryanair's part rather than adverse weather preventing take off for 3+ hours.

I don't think you can claim compensation due to a weather event

Welcome to FlyerTalk mamherst. What time were you supposed to arrive and what time did you actually arrive?

Your post is a bit unclear and lacks a clear timeline. Did you board the plane on time and then learn about the delay after boarding? If the delay was caused by the inbound aircraft being rerouted due to weather conditions, it's likely that this trip won't qualify for compensation. However, you are entitled to reimbursement for any reasonable expenses incurred during the delay, such as meals or refreshments

We were due to board at 2015 but didn't board until nearly midnight - later than our scheduled arrival time in London of 2350. We arrived in London 0255, so 3hrs 5 mins later. The inbound aircraft was rerouted due to weather during its flight but flights to and from Marrakech were taking off and landing while we waited.

If the inbound aircraft diverted due to adverse weather, Ryanair is exempted from paying compensation for delay as the knock-on effects on the following flight from an outstation as RAK is also considered extraordinary circumstances. It is immaterial whether other aircrafts took off or landed at RAK during your waiting at the airport.

That's all very helpful, thank you.
