Out of curiosity, how did this end? Was flghtright successful? Thinking about using them in a similar case (although it's W9 instead of FR).

I also would like to know how this ended, but as you are questioning, could you tell if you have used Flightright? I have asked them to claim for a Lufthansa delayed flight but a month is gone and nothing, now they are asking me again for a power of attorney...

apparently the CAA have said: “We will do everything in our power to ensure that passengers are receiving the support they are legally entitled to, during and after disruption.”

Ryanair saying one thing ... and doing another ...

Starts at 8m50s with discussion of Ryanair's reluctance to pay up.

Followed by a more general segment at 12m45s on CAA ruling that (AIUI) failure of a part before its scheduled end-of-life / service date is not 'exceptional' and therefore not a get out from payment for the carrier, although an unexpected maintenance / airworthiness directive could be.

An update! 3 Years after putting in a claim and 2 years since I last heard from flightright I get an email from RyanAir out of the blue saying that the cheque for 500 Euros is in the mail!

So let's see if I get it.

Yes I would expect so.

Ryan's air mention that I sent them a letter in June, so it looks like flightright has actually been doing something (just not communicating with me)
