What to do with 12K expiring miles?
I have 12,334 miles that are set to expire end of Feb 2001. Anything that I can use them for or a way to extend the expiration?

With the new Qualiflyer program you can donate your miles to charity (SOS Children Villages worldwide. Or you can book yourself an upgrade to a Y-paid flight within Europe, or get a set of Swiss chocolates for 10'000 Miles. It's a nice Xmas gift. Last but not least, you could give the miles to me... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

hi!!
you can extend the miles as well!!
from the swissair intranet (info posted in this thread...)
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum40/HTML/000185.html
Extension of Expiry Miles
Some members might ask in advance for extension of miles going to expire by the end of the current year.
Extension of Miles prior to the Expiry Date is not permitted. The only way to action such a request is to wait until Miles have been expired and then to re-credit the same again to members account!

Re-Credit of Expired Miles
Some members may ask you to have Expired Miles credited back to his/her account.
Limited Flexibility:
Decisions on re-crediting expired miles may only be taken by a supervisor. Recredit of miles, which have already expired, is only permitted, if member was not able to redeem his/her miles throughout the year due to good reasons. Serious illness or health problems, civil war in members country, unemployment etc. could be considered as good reasons for a recredit of miles.

Hi again,
you can't actually "give" the mileage to me, you'd have do redeem them for a free ticket on my name, and you don't have enough expiring miles for that.
For the Chocolates, call Qualiflyer at +44 207 365 24 71 and tell them you'd like to have the "Frigor" chocolates.

Thanks for the help. Sounds like the chocs and donation are the way to go come February.
