If you are a QR elite, you can upgrade W fares with miles. Otherwise, upon checkin, if there are available seats, you can buy up to business class, for reasonable prices. SYD-DOH is usually around 900USD.

That's something I was't aware of. Is it a documented benefit and for what status level(s)? Same mileage cost as Saver Fares or more?

Got my wifes code. I think it really depends on what country you work in. Wife works in a small country so Im sure the demand was less. We will have to get to a different country first in order to take the Qatar flight

My wife works in a really small country and I wasn't able to get through the form second day in a row. I work in IT so I made sure that submit requests were sent with 1 second granularity. And it went from "error" to "limit has already been reached".

But it is good to hear someone made it. I hope you will get the code and that will prove that this is not just a publicity stunt from Qatar Airways.

Got my code. Although I haven't yet found a route that the code is valid on... Anyone else got better luck?

So, I think I got lucky last night. I posted the form on behalf of my wife and got the blue box with "contact you in 48h"-text.
If I get a code? Is it only routes with W-availability thats eligble for the promo code?
Or are the the available routes limited in some other way?

I was wrong, sorry.
"Bookings made in Economy Promo Fare Family (RBDs O, T , W and G) are not eligible for redemption upgrades." -as per QR website.

I also got the code, but found no availability on the DOH-AKL route at all. Others seem available.

Has anyone who received "you have submitted your details already" without having received the 48hr response gone on to receive a promo code? Can't tell if it worked or not.

I got the code but I cannot find any availability on the JFK-DOH route. It still shows the regular price. Anyone found any routes that have availability?

It books into W fare class. This entails no possible upgrade....
