should I be concerned? (all flights marked as confirmed on-line, but everytime I try and choose seats on the LHR-DOH leg the seats don't save )
We had the same issue and wondered whether it was due to us having an infant on our booking. Everything was fine at airport. I’m sure you’ve nothing to worry about.

**UPDATE** I called Qatar and I'm now checked-in
**UPDATE 2** flight to NCL-LHR tonight now cancelled
I can't get to the airport for the 1 flight they offered as an alternative at 17:15
in the end we ahad o get the train from Newcastle to London last night. Got to hotel at LHR at 1am. Up at 5am as was told to get to check-in 3 hours early in case we have more problems. Thankfully all checked in successfully this morning.

i see DOH-EDI aircraft is on its way this morning and of course (as I told BA many times) my EDI-DOH flight is not cancelled today. BA tell me today that they won’t leave my LGW-EDI ticket open even though I now started my journey at LHR - I’m exhausted - good job I’m going on holiday

Enjoy your holiday, and upon your return, write out a chronological order of what went wrong.

Make it factual and brief - then send it to BA and you should get some sort of compensation.

yes I’ll definitely be writing to BA on our return

i asked BA to leave our LGW-EDI segment open as we’d now started our journey in LHR. BA refused and said they would cancel it and advised me to call on my return for a refund.
also - got an email today saying that BA need to speak to me about my reservation and I’m to call them - wonder what craziness I’ll be told this time

*UPDATE* loaded Skype and called BA as requested. They tell me my LGW-EDI is cancelled- BA I KNOW THIS. I spent 45 minutes on Saturday whilst in the QR lounge cancelling it.

Hi, I am a long time lurker & would like to thank everyone for their valuable advice & information over the years.
Unfortunately I missed out on the Satay fare ex-EDI, but had already booked ARN-PEN from which I have just returned. (in J) part of a LHR-ARN-DOH-PEN-DPS-KUL-PEN-DOH-ARN-LHR trip.
The J loads were as follows:

ARN-DOH 20th Jan 28/36 A359 Qsuites
DOH-PEN 22nd Jan. 22/22 B788
PEN-DOH 5th Feb. 16/22 B788
DOH-ARN 8th Feb. 22/24 B77W non qsuite

We were surprised how popular the Penang flights were at least in J.
We would highly recommend the enforced stopover in Doha at the Oryx Rotana as the whole experience was first class. On arrival through Premium immigration, private car pick up & drop off, 250 rials food & beverage voucher per person and finally the Premium Check-in at HIA was second to none.

Just my thoughts on the overall QR business class to Penang.

So my weekend trip to PEN turned into a day in DOH with a side b2b trip to PEN after late arrival of QR8 from Heathrow last night.

I have to say i was very impressed by the attitude of the staff handling the missed connection. They had an alternative option ready and when I said I didn't like it they accepted my preferred alternative instantly without question. They went off to arrange the new flight and an overnight hotel and said it would take 10 minutes - and amazingly it did!

Of course there is always the chance things will go pear shaped when I get back to the airport tonight, but the experience last night was excellent.

Anyone travelling in May and not sure how to spend their time, but not wishing to stay in Penang, might be interested in the $7 return fare PEN-KUL-HKT that's appeared today. Out on Malindo Air (ew...) back on Malaysian. Secret Flying has the details.

PS - My LHR-DOH flight is now showing as a Qsuites equipped A350-1000, which I'm very pleased about.

Interestingly for my next trip in 19 days the DOH-PEN-DOH flights are still showing as an A330. Previously they showed as an A330 but changed to a 787 with about 1-2 months to go. This April trip hasn't changed so perhaps it will actually be an A330?

My recent DOH-PEN turned into a B787, my upcoming return PEN-DOH is still showing at an A330, too.
