With all the known caveats about equipment change, my flight DOH-AKL on 16 September now shows as QSuites. I've selected 1K - and I'm crossing my fingers.
Mind you, the standard 777-200LR seats are super comfy for sleeping. Those flat beds have me sleeping like a baby

You shouldn't have an equipment change as the airline has stated the 777LR is the only frame in their fleet with the desired payload-range performance for that sector.
And although those seats are wide and sort of flat, the back to seat joint gap is a proverbial pain in the back and I have to use another blanket to smooth the joint.

And yes all 10 seats are narrow and uncomfortable... Wouldn't be my choice for 17 hours non-stop.
Edit: Check your plane if you do choose Emirates - their 777s are also 3-4-3 so would be equally uncomfortable. The A380 is 3-4-3 on lower deck but it is a wider plane with wider seats and much more comfortable.

We flew DOH-AKL on 31 December in C and were unimpressed by the long wait for a bus and the climb up a 60 degree stairway to the aircraft. Not everyone is as athletic at 65 as they were at 20!
The cabin service was, as always, superb, but this kind of treatment at DOH was unacceptable.
SQ next time.

It's normal insofar as
- the flight takes off during a peak period for departures
- There are not enough terminal gates to accommodate all flights at a peak period
- Additionally at the moment a number of gates are out of use due to works on the apron.

My Daughter just came back to UK from AKL economy on the new layout 3-4-3 ,said it was a big difference to the old 3-3-3 layout made the flight from uncomfortable to unbearable
next time i told to her try the Emirates flight its wider on the A380 economy 3-4-3 ,feeling slightly guilty as we have done the same journey on the Q suites !

I have a 10 hours layout in AKL coming from PPT. I’m a silver PC member. I have read that the lounge in AKL is only for gold or higher PC member. I have an economy ticket but I have buy an upgrade with Qmiles that gives me no lounge access ! Do you think there are possibilities to have access to the lounge ? Thank you.
