Approved within 24 hours! wow excellent work... didnt think it was going to be that easy since our scans were not the best. But excellent work here.

sid7122 yes excellent work indeed for such a new facility.

By the way no apology needed for not reading the dashboard. I was merely pointing out that it existed and could be a useful tool for you on this forum.

I also had excellent service with the visa. We added an infant after the original booking, hence the little one was not displayed when applying for the visa. Wrote an e-mail to QR and they said I shall request for the 3 in the itiniary and send the scanned passport of the little one by mail. Within 48hrs we had visa for all 4 of us. Really good service (way better than calling any of their call center)

Do you have the QR PNR? because AA PNR will not work.

Not sure where I read it but I remember seeing that it had to be booked and ticketed by QR so anything that is not 157 won't work.

Trying so hard to remember it now!

I had an AA ticket booked on QR (001). Even with the QR PNR, no success.

angeloedades I think you are referring to my post 29 of this thread which says:
"onlysuites surely a partner redemption would be on partner ticket stock? QR ticket stock always starts with 157.
The terms and conditions https://transitvisa.qatarairways.com...plyVisa/search say "Confirmed tickets for a journey into Qatar and the onward journey out of Qatar must be on Qatar Airways ticket document. Both the flights must be operated by Qatar Airways. The facility is not applicable for travel where Doha is the point of turnaround e.g. BOM-DOH-BOM."
"Both the flights must be operated by Qatar Airways." also excludes codeshare when operated by another carrier."
Please remember that this is a completely new option and there will be problems and rule changes at the start. I think that the Immigration staff should be praised for there huge efforts in implementing it as smoothly as they have. I know many of you are upset by the rule changes but please credit where credit is due.

Mine just came through. Submitted on 1/18 - showed processed until this morning (1/22) when I got the approval. This is on a QR ticketed reservation. As I have stopovers on both the outbound and return, I chose to do the free one on the return and will just do the VOA on the outbound.

Just adding another data point: submitted at 11:43 PM on 01/19 (Thurs) and received approval at 4:02 AM on 01/23 (Mon) for a layover on 02/02.

Very pleased with the speed and ease of the process.

On the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/qatar...-lounge-3.html thread andrewboj has come with significant news to those who are not citizens of the list of 33 countries that can be issued with a visa on arrival (VOA).
He cites http://www.eng.qatarembassy.pl/cat-1,sub-15.html as saying that Polish citizens can get a 'mini' VOA. Mini because it does not allow entry into Oman as the full VOA does.
This is important news for citizens of a number of countries since it can simplify obtaining a Qatar visa for them.

Have you heard of this for other countries? Then help your fellow FTers and let us know so that the information can be made available on the forum.

the current list of 33 countries can be seen on https://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/...ec748/748.html.

This link leads to a page with other links which seem to provide contradictory information. Or am misreading something?

This link, in Instant Visa section 4, for Joint Tourist Visa, says the fee is QR 55 for one person.

But on the left is a link for Visa Services:

https://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/...1082/1082.html

And there the third link down is "Joint tourist visa between Qatar and Oman for the citizens of 33 countries .", and if click on that:

https://www.moi.gov.qa/site/english/.../03/22703.html

it says:
Fee for first issuance: QR 100
So why does it say that seemingly the same Visa costs QR 55 on one page but QR 100 on another page?

(I'm looking into prices because my ticket is an award ticket booked through AA, so I now I have doubts as to whether I'll qualify for the free visa.)

remdk - I have further posted the other thread, so apologies for this appearing in two places at once!

According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Qatar in addition to the 33 countries who can get the visa on arrival citizens from Poland, Hungary, Montenegro, Cyprus and Belarus may be eligible for a visa on arrival, subject to certain conditions.

Add me to the list of people getting an invalid booking reference error on the Transit Visa page. AA Award, traveling less than 30 days, and QR PNR (verified on Qatar website). I could have sworn I got a different error when I tried 35 days out... So what's the next step? Is there an e-mail or phone number I can call?
