Rows 23-27 on the SP's were configured ABC-DEF; I did more than my fair share of flights in these seats!

Yes, you are quite correct. ABC-DEF. I went back and checked the seatmap and the G that appears to the right of the F seats is in fact the Galley .

thanks Dave. Don't mind if I do. Unfortunately I am in Sydney today . And not in the QC, so a decent Scotch is not an option tonight (can't bring myself to pay the hotel minibar prices!) so I will have to settle for my boss's choice of wine at dinner. But, being a complete wine Philistine, I suppose he could have ordered anything and I would have said it was very good. At least i was able to consume a few Boags at the bar before dinner .

And what is wrong with being in Sydney today? (Apart from the heat, but you Brisbanites should be used to that!)

Also, apart from the smoke, and the fires, and the humidity - I see your point.

Anyone want to man one of our tankers at Regentville RFS?

Hey, I sort of remember the last time that did this promo. Well, actually I remember entering the lounge, asking for a few samples and then .... well I remember I made it home. I'll be there about 6pm tomorrow so I'll report back about the promo.

Dave, I the problem with Sydney is not the weather ... it is the location. And the fact that when I am in Sydney, I am not at home with my loved ones. But I do hope and pray for an easing of the dry heat in this neck of the woods.

Well, just as I arrived at the SYD lounge at 5:30pm tonight, there were two young ladies packing up some empty bottles of Glenfiddich. Seems I had just missed out . Then, just as my flight was called, they were returning to the lounge, presumably to start serving again . Talk about upsetting! They ceased over the peak lounge occupation time.

Oh well, had to settle for 3 of that JW Red stuff. And the only way to drink that is to fill the glass with ginger ale. I suppose I could have had a few Crownies or HP's. But my mind was set on the scotch.

By the way, the normal entrance was closed as they refurbish the eastern end of the lounge. Entry was via the previously-always-closed western entrance.

Life's a *****, isn't it (I wonder if the violators of the first amendment right to free speech will censor that word).

As I am not a scotch drinker, I can't tell the difference. I am more a bourbon drinker, or the good beers.

Yeah, noticed this last Sunday when they cancelled my flight from CBR to SYD and put me on a flight 80 mins prior. Only thing is, my lift was not given sufficient notice to get there 80 mins earlier, so I waited in the lounge on arrival.

Oh well, these things need to be done. Needed to go all the way to the end of the lounge to get into the business centre though, since the new buffet they are installing blocks the short entrance.

Dave, not a scotch drinker?

Just so you know:

Johnny Walker Red: Emergencies Only
Johnny Walker Black: Now I can Concentrate!
Glenfiddich: Involuntary Smiling
Rusty Nail with Glenfiddich: In Love

BTW, now where is the Qantas Scotch Club -- THERE they could make a mint!

Cheers!

Actually, I'll the JW Black over the 12 yo GF most days. I prefer a good blended to a single malt. JW Gold will bring more than a smile to this little black duck. But when they bring out the older GF (the 18 yo is winderful) I will quite happily migrate to the SM's for a brief time. BA serve the GF Solara Reserve (15 yo I think) minitures in J.

You guys make me salivate talking about all this great scotch while I am having a conversation with some VB cans. It must be the rainy weather...

VB .... pffftttt. Sorry, but if we must drink beer then make sure it is drinkable! Coopers, Boags, Cascade, Hahn, for the ales and largers. Tooheys Old or Newky Brown for the darker taste.

Now, why get into the complex world of boutique beers? Besides, didn't one of our friends here once say that Crown is really VB in a different bottle?

That would be Scott, and I think he said that to denigrate Crown, rather then promote VB.

Having said that though, I don't mind a Crownie, don't mind a VB, but prefer Tooheys New (heck, I am from the western suburbs of Sydney, so I am *supposed to like it!).

I must admit though I am rather partial to Hahn Premium.
