Best lounge out of LHR T3?

Hi all, first post in this forum as I'll have my first QF flight in a few weeks from LHR T3. From what I can see, the J lounge options are BA or AA - I also get OWE benefits and am reasonably familiar with the BA 1st lounge. Is it fair to say that this is the best one to stick with, or does AA have anything better to offer?

Many thanks
RC

As a OWE you get the choice of BA First, AA Flagship or CX First lounges. Not been in the AA lounge but have read some positive reviews. I prefer the BA F lounge to the CX offering - I found the CX offering small and without atmosphere. They are close enough together that you could look into each to see which you prefer.

Ah, thanks, I had forgotten about CX. Maybe I'll pop my head inside, depending on what the food/drink is like in GF.

BA F for everything apart from the views IMO. I usually start in BA F lounge for the food and drink, then move over to CX F to relax on a lounger facing the runway for the final 30 minutes before boarding. I tried the AA F lounge once and that was enough. It has nothing to recommend it compared with the other two.

If you have enough time though why not try all three and make your own mind up?

I actually prefer the CX lounge - better views and I've preferred the food there. I found the BA lounge a bit stuffy and there's no view, and the food was disappointing. But hey, try both!

There is a view from the BA lounge, can definitely see aircraft from the dining room. Probably not quite as good as the CX views. IMHO the F&B are still better in the BA Lounge. OT but TBH I wish QF had negotiated WP access to the EK Lounge at LHR as that's better than either CX or BA I think

Ah, see last time I went in there was back when you couldn't use the dining room unless you were in F.

Agreed, that would be nice.

At least last time I went there the BA dinning room in the F lounge is open for all until dinner time. Then for dinner it becomes and F /Prem only pre-flight dining option and is restricted to others.

Just try and be in the joint BA/QF lounge in the lead up time to departure (assuming you are on QF metal (hang on, it will be an A380, make that QF plastic) that is). That way you will get up to date boarding calls, which will reflect any delays (which will probably occur, given how tightly rostered the QF A380's are these days). You won't get those boarding calls in the AA or CX lounges.

Thanks, good advice so I tried CX's offering first and am now in the flounge awaiting further instruction...

I definitely take the point about the view at CX, it's fantastic, despite being a small lounge.

As for BA, well I can see the dreaded JW Red is on display, although to be fair there's a Glenlivet 15 as well, so not all bad. As for me, I'm sticking to the Tattinger for now (which I personally prefer to CX's Veuve Cliquot).
