SFO to NRT on Aeromexico: $2300USD
My dates were November to February of next year; there might be other times of year. Quite a backtrack, but that means it could earn you a wealth of Delta miles and help towards getting status

IIRC this has a technical stop in TIJ on the way to NRT.
Probably don't get to get off the plane, but still you could say you took off (and landed) in TIJ. Nonstop NRT-MEX on the way back due to prevailing winds.

Fare basis is QLNN6XOS. I suspect these will post at economy earning levels with DL. This has been an ongoing issue.
From ExpertFlyer "CLASS OF SERVICE - THESE FARES APPLY FOR ECONOMY CLASS SERVICE".

This fare has been out for a bit. There's also a similar fare to ICN.
The fare also works from various origins (e.g., JFK).
You can play with the dates and seasons and get it down to $2,100 or so.
They haven't been doing the tech stop since this went 787 about 3 years ago. It's nonstop MEX-NRT.

It certainly does for the flights from MEX to ICN. I didn't realize also for MEX-NRT was needed.
If folks were looking for MQD/MQM can also do the SFO-MEX-ICN for almost the same amount. At least there was some floating around recently

Another Aeromexico deal with the usual caveats:
- This fare is not for everyone but it's a cheap TPAC...
- Keep copies of all email confirmation showing Business Class as Booking Class
- Make sure your Delta SkyMiles # is on the boarding pass when they issue it at the airport.
- It's Aeromexico not KLM nor Delta, service won't be 5 star but Mileage accrual and MQD accrual should make up for it...

Thanks for the heads up on this -- I never was able to resolve my Q fare basis/I fare class issue on my trip to EZE. A real bummer and hit and miss of how it will post/resolution.
