It looks like you could also add stop in MIA and get this upto 11k miles.

Wow! This is a fantastic fare. Tons of tickets in Aug and September i see.

Also, for about $96 more you can go to Maui. :-)

Loving it.

Very nice fare! Especially over the December holidays. Wish it was available from Detroit, too.

It's also available ex-Canada (eg YYZ or YUL), if you're willing to transit, in fact similar fares have been around since last year.

Buying this as a special fare will more than double the EQDs earned while keeping the EQMs fairly consistent. Anyone looking to use this as a Run should benefit from buying as a special fare.

Yeah, how would we go about buying this (or really anything else) as a special fare? Only method I know is buying with a hotel and/or car from AAVacations. Sometimes those deals can be awesome (same or cheaper than the ticket alone) but in this case I'm not finding anything for less than about $1800. Is there a way to buy a ticket alone as a special fare?

Also, not seeing the 777 on the DFW-HNL routes; coming up with a 767 instead.

Hope this helps: Link to special fares

There are a number of ways to buy a "special fare." Personally, I like to use a bank portal and a cash/points method. This fare is especially nice because if it doesn't register as a 'special fare' at least you still get great EQM and decent EQD.

Seems like both exist on this route depending on the dates. From my limited searching, I tend to see more 767 but with 777 around peak times

Oh yeah, I supposed I've heard of this...seems like people mention the Citi Thank You points triggering these. Apparently Chase UR doesn't work though...or I did something wrong when I booked that way a few months back. If anybody knows a way to make the Chase travel portal trigger a special fare I'd love to hear about it...that would be super valuable.
