eDream ticketed airfares have been cancelled by themselves (travel agent == eDreams). Majority of people have confirmed this situation. Likely due to FX rate was 'unfair' to them.
Direct issued tickets by Qatar are fine.

Visa Currency Exchange Rate Calculator: https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/travel-support/exchange-rate-calculator.html
Mastercard Exchange Rate Calculator: https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/
AMEX is reported to use the FX rate the day before -OR- uses Oanda. So be wary (unconfirmed, but reported a few times)

To pay directly in your home currency (DCC) on Qatar's site, you will need to use Mastercard or Visa. The option will show up once you've filled credit card number. The exchange rates are provided by Monex Financial Services for the day of the transaction +3% fixed conversion charge

Airline Information
Qatar (QR) does not allow short checking of bags on layovers (<24 hours), for any reason. If for convenience purposes you wanted a bag for a connecting flight later on (DOH-CAI or elsewhere), DO NOT CHECK-IN THE BAG.

Fares weren't updated as of two hours ago. Amex bills you according to the mastercard interbank rate, the day before the transaction posts. So there is some risk that if you buy today, the transaction posts immediately and you get stuck with the old FX rate.

However, expedia.co.uk is running the old fares in EGP, converted to GBP under the new rate. You pay a small bid/offer but eliminate all FX risk.

I just got CAI-DOH-BKK-DOH-CAI in F on 77W (i.e. J) and 388 with very nice connections, for £1000 GBP.

Hard to argue with that.

I wouldn't wait past today to jump on this.
According to the Mastercard currency conversion, transactions that post today will be charged from 15869.00 EGP are going to be 1220.69. Their tool is here https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/cons...-currency.html. So your best bet is to use a Mastercard such as a Citi based card.

I'm using my only Mastercard (which has a forex fee, but not significant) on a fare I've held right now.

I see CAI-SYD return in QR F for €1939 (USD 2152) DOH-SYD in A380 and CAI-DOH in 777. Even the 777 legs are in First Class

e.g. 6.12 to 12.12 on orbitz

may be a stupid question but does the $75 cancellation fee allow for an actual refund?

Or is it $75 cancellation to get back in voucher to be used on QR in the future?

Wow, exchange rate difference is shocking. I have to think if I want to fly somewhere else from Egypt.

---

Added ICN however I think it's on 2-2-2 business class on B777. But it was cheap, around £670.

Just to share my experience, and a word of WARNING, if you choose the charge in EGP at the QR site the attempted converted charges vary widely, check your statements, mine were $880 and $1250 incoming charges for the exact same ticket, but when I chose charge in USD it was $730. I don't know what is going on and what the final charge will be if you choose to be charged in EGP.
