Sorry, my mistake. I assumed that the suspicious pax had simply gone back out the way he/she came in. For whatever reason - false optimism, perhaps? - I just didn't grasp the fact that he/she had just gone directly through to the gate area. Of course, the only rational response in that case is that the TSOs were complete idiots, but that's already been said, hasn't it?

I have an odd shoe fetish, I don't know where that comes from. I really enjoy wearing uniforms. I like to adhere to a strict policy, I prefer not to have to use my judgement or any common sense. I really like to mitigate between lower level workers and management types. I love all the drama that comes with working with young/immature people. I like supervising an area that is understaffed, with employees that are tired of not having the appropriate amount of staff. I appreciate having an upper management make decisions for me when they have no idea what my job entails. I like working weekends, holidays and evenings. I enjoy bidding on new work schedules frequently. I don't like consistency, and the idea of having a social life scares me.
Any suggestions?

Oh, what the heck, if it weren't for the lack of interest in a social life, I'd ask if you were any good at using a whip.

so how is the fact the the guy that left the screening area before they could search his bag, and leaving the bag there the TSA's fault? He could have had a bomb or anything in that bag. The TSA was doing their job which is securing and protecting the airport and passengers. This should be blamed on the guy that ran off without his bag and not the TSA.
Which leads me back to my original question. Are TSO at the checkpoint punished or in any way held accountable for the problems THEY caused?

This article has a picture of passengers waiting during the evacuation.
From the vantage point of where this picture was shot, it looks like not only was the security checkpoint in Terminal 2 shut down, but everybody needed to leave the landside areas of the terminal as well, go across the street, and hang out in the parking lot!

I am sorry to inform you paranoid schizophrenia and an abusive authoritarian streak are not considered to be qualifications by REAL intelligence organizations.
