Sorry, but this is as simple as it gets. If the bag contained a possible threat, it and the owner should have been within the control of the TSA at all times. If the bag contained no threat, or "maybe possibly could be", there is no need for the terminal dump. TSA screw-up any way you look at it.

Which leads me back to my original question. Are TSO at the checkpoint punished or in any way held accountable for the problems THEY caused?
