I misspoke. To clarify...children under 18 traveling alone who are not being escorted to the gate by an adult (ie a 15 year old being dropped off at the curb and negotiating her way through the airport by herself) will need to have photo ID.

No, kids being escorted by a parent/guardian/airline employee through security and to their gate don't need ID.
