I want to become a Registered Traveler.
Am I bad?
I'm a technology junkie. Hate the shoe carnival but otherwise find the checkpoints, err, pointless bu not onerous. I don't usually fly from airports with long lines and the wife probably wont sign up, so I would not save any time anyway. I fly less than 10 time/yr.
Still, I bought an Oyster Card for London when I visit there every two years, A transit smart card for the Bay area when it worked only on the ferry (which I only use, rarely, on weekends), and a bridge toll transponder when I only cross bridges ones a month.
Am I bad for wanting to do this? Will I still be allowed to post to TS/S if I become a registered Traveller?

There's no valid reason that shoe harassment should exist in the first place and getting people to enroll in Extorted Traveller to avoid this harassment is nothing more than a shake down.

If you want to become an Extorted Traveller, that's your affair. Personally, I won't give Comrade Hawley another dime beyond what is already extorted from me in the form of mandatory "security" fees.

. I modified my post because I wanted to start a new thread.I agree with you that there is no valid reason for any of it. Does it help that most of the money goes to Clear, not Comrade Hawley?
(Please follow in other thread, tnx)

Another consideration: The widespread use of technology may threaten the jobs of many TSA screeners a difficult pill to swallow for a government bureaucracy trying to compete for funding, Farr said.

At MXP a couple weeks ago I was pulled aside and led to a small shoe machine. I was asked to put each foot on the machine, one at a time, while the screener clicked a button. He cleared me and I went on my way. The entire process was faster than shoe removal, and more dignified.
The machine was much smaller and simpler than the one in the photo in this article.

Those puppies (sic) become fatigued and have to rest regularly and too much relies on the interpretation of the handler.
Plus, my mother would never fly again if she had to let a dog near her.
