Scott Adams posted his confessions of a toothpaste smuggler and got a whole slew of comments about the stupidity of TSA's toothpaste ban. Check it out here

"So, like millions of other travelers (I assume) I plan to become a smuggler. I figure I can take one small tube of travel-sized toothpaste in my pants pocket and make it through security without being busted. I rationalize that there is no danger to the public in doing this because I use a brand of toothpaste that rarely explodes."
I love it - common sense wins over idiotic TSA policy

The second day of the ban I tucked chapstick and eye drops into my waist band, and the plane made it home safely. Luckily, I haven't had to travel since then.
I loved this quote from the comments section of the Scott Adams blog:
You could always write "Kip is an Idiot" on the bag to top things off.

Since you are now alowed a zip lock abg with 3oz bottles, this is where you pack a few bottles of KY (or maybe other flavored brands) and some condoms with your toothbrush, toothpaste and a picture of a rubber duck. Just to see their reaction.

I have a rubber devil duck (red with black devil horns). I think I'll pack him along with some condoms and lubes on my next trip. That should be fun.

I can see the next stage developing, everyone will be given a complete pat down or strip search to prevent smuggling of banned items. Illegal narcotics is fine since it is not liquid, but toothpaste will be confiscated and you will be arrested

I bought my wife a one-way ticket from PNS to ATL for use yesterday and warned her about the asinine TSA dumbots at PNS. She had a small bag with clothes and her tolietries. She put her toothpaste, deodorant, and something else in her purse and left her shampoo in the carryon. The only thing she was worried about was her lib balm and she placed that inside her bra. The brilliant TSA screener confiscated her shampoo (she didn't have a baggie to put it in) and warned her about such behavior in the future. She sweetly told him that shampoo was basically an inert agent and when he learned some basic chemistry, he was free to chastise her about such items. Until then, he should just stick to following orders from idiots such as Kip Hawley. He rolled his eyes at her and closed her carryon (never even glancing at her purse).
Amazingly enough, the plane landed safely in Atlanta and none of the prohibited items detonated in flight. I guess Kip Hawley is still an idiot and those enforcing stupidity are as clueless as the PHB in the Dilbert cartoons.
