Answering my own question: yes they are. A nice polished gold as well.

The nice polished gold is a signal to thieves. I have a gold brief case I was given as a gift for years of service. Really hesitate to use it. I had a gold weekender but sold it on EBay last year. Couldn't bear to check it and it was too heavy as a carry on for Europeon airlines.

The "Zeroller" model is, and they have a separate model made of carbon fiber, but prepare yourself for a little sticker shock on that one.

It's so sexy...I've lusted after that one for a long time. I would hope it's light.

I have one of their delux computer cases in gunmetal. The only two downsides are that any color other than raw aluminum doesn't hold up to scratches that well and that they scream "steal me". I don't use mine unless I'm trying to be pimp. For a long time I was using a regular Tumi case but these days I've got a great North Face backpack and it's my ultimate carry on now.

I know there are other travelers here who fly with their firearms. I am curious as to their experiences, if any, with this type of bag, and what suggestions they may have.

Anti-gun types, please sit on your hands.
The easiest way to secure this is with a chain that goes through the handle and wraps around the case yet is short enough so that it cannot be slipped off. Use a TSA lock on the chain

I believe the best way to defeat the Zero Halliburton lock, regardless of the type, is to avoid it altogether, and to defeat the hinge. It is a single pin hammered through the hinge barrel. Simple using another slightly narrower pin that is longer than the barrel to hammer out the pin, and then pull your narrow pin out and the barrel hinge should come apart. For this reason you should consider modifying your Zero Halliburton by crimping the hinge barrel on both ends so that the hinge pin can't be hammered out.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

You have successfully contributed to my new knowledge for the day pursuit. Thanks. I would have thought the Halliburton had a spot-welded or peened hinge pin.

Oh, and nice bump, too.
