Speaking of deploying military personnel with loaded weapons across the US after a significant segment of such personnel have suffered psychological problems -- identified or not by medical professionals -- as a result of experiences from deployment overseas in combat theaters, that might be an invitation to trouble for some that don't deserve it at home either.

Right. Do you remember National Guard who works for US Airports is approximately 8 months and after that they pulled out all US Airports completely. That was back on Oct. 2001 to May 2002.

Yes, we are listening on the news tonight. We are glad to see OBL is dead. Do you really think TSA will eliminated only ticketed passengers, shoe carnival, liquid restrictions will be eased. It is time to brings non-ticketed passengers allowed into the entire concourse.

Oh for sure. Creating longer lines pre TDC. However I cannot mention what an inviting target this is, as in another thread someone said every FT poster should be reported to Homeland Security for writing about such easy targets as the bad guys would never figure it out for themselves. Well, bad guys in Scotland and Moscow noticed packed crowd areas outside checkpoint security were easy targets, but shhhhh they must be the only ones so if no one posts it here no other bad guys will ever figure it out.

That sounds like the guy who got on my case on a forum right after 9/11 about something I said about tracking terrorists via their cell phones. I mentioned that it was a very simple task of purchasing a pre-paid phone (like Boost or Virgin Mobile) with cash, and they guy said, "Gee, thanks for giving the terrorists a leg up on American intelligence. Now they all know how to get around being traced!"
Because, you know, buying a pre-paid cell phone (which you can do at 7-11 or Circle K or WalMart or Target) is so difficult to do, and, apparently, all terrorists are blithering idiots.

Apparently, there are armed NG guys already patrolling NYC airports and the WTC site.
The climate of fear demands that the TSA do something visible. Some things they can do very easily that don't cost a lot of money --
1. Vehicle searches at airport entrances;
2. requiring everyone to say their names, just like at SFO;
3. Friskings for nearly everybody;
4. Increased gate rapes;
5. Packs of roving clerks going around terminals conducting random searches or people, bags, and drinks.
6. Increased harassment on subways, trains, and buses, and possibly even highways. State and local governments can do this without the TSA.
And, of course, a puppy post on PV.
The TSA will welcome this, because it buys them time from the current outrage over their screening tactics. For sure, anyone speaking out will be declared to be a sympathizer or generally UnAmerican.
It's going to be a rough week to attempt to go anywhere.
On the flip side, I suspect there will be some public debate along the lines of: "OBL is dead. Why do we have to keep doing these things at airports?"
