Thumbs down why would the tsa put this on their website? it has nothing to do with them

now don't get me wrong at all as it's not the story that bothers me as those shown and many many others do deserve their recognition but rather imho, the tsa trying to milk something that is not their's to begin with.....

other than a brief glimpse of a smurf or two wearing their smokey the bear hat and saluting, this it has nothing to do with the tsa nor our national security in the war on terror, liquids, gels aerosols and other dangerous items

Because TSA along with Police, and military groups across the nation saluted these heroes in many airports as they made their way to Washington. Is it wrong to salute these heroes and show it on a website?

Normally, when TSA employees are in the news, they are being arrested for theft, rape, etc. Since the TSA found 5 seconds of inconsequential footage of their employees actually respecting citizens, it is deemed to need top placement on the TSA homepage.

I would bet that the TSA is somewhat disappointed that their employees did not get more camera time in their faux uniforms.

Since it's TSA, this would be more like it.

Because the scumbags "in charge" of TSA are pretty much just barking seals, hoping someone will throw them a fish even though they've done nothing to earn the fish.

Since when is saluting a veteran a bad thing? And just simply posting a link to the very same story off the TSA website doesn't qualify as "milking it" IMHO.

It's better than the abuse TSA has done to veterans and military in the past, like making military honor guard strip down at the checkpoint or trying to confiscate a Congressional Medal of Honor for a vet.

Some TSA groups feel it necessary to have an Honor Guard for one reason or another. Its not a policy I agree with or support, TSA is not the military nor anything like it. I have been on an actual Honor Guard team, military type, and find the various TSA groups attempts kind of laughable.

BUT, honoring veterans is one of the most honorable things that any citizen can do. I dont care who they are, where they work, or anything about their past. Its honorable, and deserves the respect of every citizen no matter what your personal feelings on the subject or your beliefs. Those who use this as a means of forwarding their personal agenda should be ashamed of themselves. I am certainly ashamed of you.

If every citizen should honor veterans, why does TSA insist on patting down every veteran who is over 80 years old?

It's ok, Ron, the feeling is mutual.

TSA would certainly never be guilty of using such things to forward their agenda, would they?

We dont. Why make such a blatantly false accusation?

while you and i have butted heads over 3.4 ounces of toothpaste in the past , you said it better than i could in my opening post and i agree with you 100%. yes, honor and respect every (n.b. every) veteran as if it wasn't for them....but that's not what i was referring to when i started this thread but rather for the tsa to take focus away from what they are supposed to be doing and to align themselves with military forces (or para-military for that matter) is simply wrong. while many of the tsa's employees may be veterans, that does/should not come into play as the tsa's job is to protect me (john q. goalie, member of the traveling public) and to focus on that*-period and end of story, plane and simple

*and to get it right but that's for other threads and discussions
