It's not everyone, just a few people. I had no problem getting Starpoints from AT&T although it wasn't a 7500-point bonus. I get 1 point per dollar. But I had so many problems with MCI I decided to stick with AT&T for awhile because their customer service is so good.

I actually did try to follow up numerous times with both AT&T and Starwood as well to no avail! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I have also had problems with AT&T posting miles to my Marriott acct. I switched over in late April to get the 5,000 Marriott points. I had signed up late last year for 10,000 points and the points actually posted so I was anxious to try again. After determining that it was more than 6 months since I had left AT & T, the operator signed me up and said it would take 90 days for the bonus to appear. I received two small postings to my Marriott acount for monthly usage but no bonus points. I called this weekend and the operator said she will file a customer complaint form and that will take at least 30 days for an answer. They first stated I was not eligible for the bonus but reneged on that once I counted out the months for them.I switched later Saturday to Sprint and am writing to the FCC.
I guess I should feel lucky I ever got any bonus miles out of AT & T. Buyer beware

Today I called the AT&T number posted by Tute84 several months ago and spoke with a CSR who stated that in addition to the 7,500 points with Starwood that I would get 5 points per $1 spent. I too was given several options of calling plans.

Well, I for one went after this 7500 Starpoints deal *solely* as a result of seeing this original post and calling 1-800-383-6146 and referring to Ext 83701.

Initial results were as others had said...first they thought I wanted the Continental One Pass deal...then they apparently did see something in the system referring to a 7500-Starpoint promo, but didn't ask for my SPG number. Went ahead and made the switch, figuring I'd just follow along and eventually coerce the points out of them. Notified Starwood Preferred Guest as well, and had them put a note on my record stating the day I ordered the switch to AT&T and the number I called, number of points offered, first/third/sixth invoices at 2500 pts each, etc. At least that way, I might get help from SPG later.

Called AT&T again today (12 days after signup) and had another discussion with an equally clueless individual. She assured me that she would "put all the comments" on my account and do everything possible to see that I got my points. She did take down my SPG, but only "so I could get the 1 pt per dollar going forward".

I still don't really believe that I will get anything other than 1 pt per dollar unless I really force this thing. But 7500 Starpoints is a big chunk...it would take me about 28 single-night stays at $89/night to get this many pts...and I usually stay at Hilton anyway. Eventually, after my other current credit card bonuses run their course, I will also get a Starwood Amex, but for now this 7500 pt possibility is pretty attractive, even if it is not quite "real".

Next round: I will try to find a good email address to email them (probably somewhere on ATT.com) and try to get an affirmative response. Having it in writing to fax back to them later is invaluable. This one is important to me and others I'm sure -- I will post my results on this going forward.

Spoke to AT&T today about the bonus Starpoints and they claim they don't have any promos with Starwood for 7500 points just points for usage. I was on the phone for 35 minutes with 6 different reps and got nowhere. Back to sprint where I know my 5,000 WP miles will post. Bye AT&T and thnks for nothing.

I received my "welcome package" from AT&T that was to contain all of the details of the starwood promotion. It didn't mention starwood or any promotion at all. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I have been in email contact with Jae from Starwood. Jae told me that I should receive 5000 Starwood point from AT&T after 90 days. It is not the 7500 points that were promised but its better than nothing.
I remember when I originally signed up with AT&T my phone call was recorded to ensure quality service. I guess those recordings are only used when statements from the customer are questioned, not statements from AT&T. AT&T was no help at all.

A Starwood rep told me this offer expired June 30. I am now satisfied to know the ending date of this promo.

Well, AT&T does give 5 points per dollar on some programs - I know for a fact that they do with their Continental Airlines / AT&T promotion.

Called ATT this morning and was told that the Starpoints 7500 enrollment bonus with ATT was not in effect (also told Marriott bonus was discontinued).

Actually, I am not sure if ATT is even partners with Marriott or Hilton anymore...
