The names of those most frequently cited may surprise you.

The list includes two burger joints, a neighborhood cafe, a Mexican restaurant and several Asian restaurants. It also includes Wild Ginger, a fine-dining establishment frequented by the likes of former President Clinton...
Interesting. I have never been a fan of Wild Ginger (except for their mojitos) but there is much better Thai food elsewhere in the city imo. Heck - Typhoon! is better and just a few blocks away

For lunch if you're near the market remember to have your Etta's lunch card punched - only 10 lunches and you get one free. Also, fill out the card for your birthday and you get a coupon for a free dessert - yummy!

Couldn't agree more.....Wild Ginger is so over rated even their mojitos IMHO!

Wow ... I mean, I like Tilth and all, but that seems a bit excessive.

Tilth? Top 10 new restaurants in US?

I second that opinion. If the foodie reviewer for the NYT was so up on Tilth, they should have notified the travel writer for Seattle. The NYT Travel Page for Seattle only lists 3 NYT reviewed restaurants... and none of them are Tilth:

For the visit to Bainbridge

for excellent Mexican food - San Carlos (good Happy Hour!)
for good wine tasting - The Living Room (wine bar)
best French toast (pecan with caramel) - Cafe Nola (for brunch on Sat/Sun)

Tulio, Tavo'lata, 35th Street Bistro all excellent...

...and Tulio is on dinearoundseattle...their chicken dish is to die for and always on the special...several of my friends eat it every time we go there...

...as for Tavo'lata, the food was amazing there...it was late at night but the food was still great and the service was excellent...

...35th Street Bistro in Fremont is also terrific...great food and a nice wine list...and convenient parking right across the street, but it is a pay lot...

My thoughts exactly. With, maybe, the exception of the Madison Park Cafe.

Hey Chex- wanna find out some more about the new Samurai Noodle that is going in on the AVE (like when) and how about a listing of some of the new fro-yo places that have been popping up (new one on the AVE and also I may have seen a new one on Market). Some cheepo places are always fun

I used to really like Wild Ginger's Seven Element Soup for lunch. As I haven't worked downtown for several years, I don't know whether they still serve it.
