Loews new YouFirst program

Well, it looks like Loews has rolled out their new YouFirst program which is replacing their LoewsFirst program.

Overall, it looks like they have reduced the benefits (the lower levels no longer get any type of arrival gift, they no longer have an AA points option, etc.) though they do now provide free I-net access for all but the entry level. Another big change is that they no longer use # of nights towards elite status. They only count stays now which can make it harder to achieve elite status for a lot of people.

Here is the link to their new program: YouFirst

The program now is beyond lame.
Before, even as a regular Blue member, we got room upgrades, nice welcome amenities (many a times a full bottle of wine, milk and cookies for the kids, etc.). And airline miles. Now, Blue gets zilch.
Reached Gold, and under the new program I got a bottle of root beer and a bag of pretzels. Another time I got three bottles of beer.
Got Platinum. Had to ask for room upgrade, despite what the program benefits say. And amenities? root beer and pretzels.
Wrote to General Manager at TWO different Loews after my stays. Not even an acknowledgement of receipt, let alone a reply.
Goodbye Loews. In the current down market, all the best. My dollars go where they are appreciated.

As a Plat did you get the $100 room credit for food/beverages/spa/etc? I stayed at the Royal Pacific in Orlando a couple of weeks ago and had to argue for receiving it. When I checked in I specifically asked about food room charges from vendors and restaurants in City Walk and the two Universal parks. I was told point blank that those would count and I would receive the $100 off. When I checked out, they then told me that what I had been told was wrong. At first they wouldn't do anything, until I started to complain. They then told me they would do a one time $25 credit (since I had been told incorrect info.) I had to argue that I specifically asked about the credit and where it was applicable. And I followed what I was told. They then offered $50. I had to ask for the manager and then argue with him for a bit. He finally admitted that they have had some issues with understanding the rules themselves and apologized. He finally did give me the full $100 credit. What a pain it was though.

As for the room upgrade, as a Plat I asked for and received my suite upgrade when I made the reservation, not when I checked in. But I did not receive any "arrival gift" this time. So I agree with you on that front, very lame. But if they can get the rules for the $100 credit for Plats understood and working for them, that is a great benefit.

No, and I didn't even remember to ask!
But as I said, I didn't get an suite upgrade at time of reservation (though that's a stated benefit), but could it be because I booked online? I don't know. Anyhow, when I checked in, I had to ask, and I only got upgraded to a premium room.
My lack of benefits happened at the last two Loews I stayed in, and both times I wrote to the GM, and never got so much as an acknowledgement.
For all I know, someone there just doesn't like me -- I don't even get email confirmations anymore when I make reservations online....

As you know, there aren't all that many Loews around, but there are a few cities with Loews that I travel quite a bit to. Fortunately for me, there are also other brands at a similar level in those locations. I was quite willing to go along with the generally reduced benefits etc. But when I don't even get those, and when the GMs don't see fit to reply to letters, well, I guess I know when my business is not wanted.
