HX website is not good and and they don't let you really manage your booking, mostly just view it..
But I always had a quick response by their call center, much faster than CX.
I find HX has avery particular way to enter name (like attaching first and middle name). To view a booking, you need to enter the name exactly as it appear on your HX eTicket.

We completed our return portion of our $585 LAX-HKG-BKK-HKG-LAX recently.
The outbound was back in January.
The BKK-HKG was a 4am redeye, which is never fun. We had to leave for BKK at a little after 1am. But we were able to hang out in the BKK Miracle Lounge that was across from our boarding gate. It's not the greatest lounge in Asia, but still better than most US lounges, and we appreciated it being open at 3am. More info and photos: https://readyjetroam.com/2019/06/04/...iracle-lounge/
Our flight BKK-HKG was on the HX A330 with the layflat config in business, thank goodness! We mostly slept on that flight. More info and photos:

We had a 4 hour layover at HKG, so we went to the Hong Kong Airlines Autus Lounge, found the nap room and slept for a couple more hours. Autus is a first rate business class lounge. We took advantage of the food, tea and showers at the Lounge. More info and photos: https://readyjetroam.com/2019/06/12/...-kong-airport/
Our flight HKG-LAX was on the A350 with the herringbone rather than cuddle seat configuration. The seats are great: privacy if you want but also the ability to travel as a couple as the herringbone faces in rather than out. The service was....weird. Different service down each aisle. The crew was super-friendly, nice and eager to please, but seemed either new-ish or maybe each FA just wanted to do things his or her way. There was also a man across the aisle from me who was up from his seat during taxi and for most of the flight and he was never told to sit by the FAs. Again, weird. But overall, the HX A350 business class seats are awesome and we had a great flight! More details and photos: https://readyjetroam.com/2019/06/14/...o-los-angeles/
All in all, I would say that HX is a LOT better than any US carrier across the pacific but not quite up to Cathay or Singapore standards. I would fly them again if they were the cheapest fare of the three. ^
Since it is apparently not obvious, those links are to my blog. And since it is my blog I do earn some affiliate revenue from it. Like $12 a month in a good month. Please don't feel obligated to click on them as the information provided in this post stands on its own as tl:dr versions of the blog posts. Happy to answer any questions about my HX experiences.

They may be Thomas Cooked by Christmas
Don't assume I'm happy with any of this: HX is like culture programmes in Yes Prime Minister:
"How would you feel if they took all the culture programmes off television?"
"I don't know. I never watch them."
"Well, neither do I! But it's vital to know that they're there!"

Yeah, I read this in the SCMP online edition today. Not looking too good for HX. It's too bad, having a second airline in HK is good for the consumer. But I won't buy a ticket on HX unless I am traveling within 2 days, just not so sure they will remain flying. Hope so.....

Today's qwerky news - no more IFE across the fleet : https://onemileatatime.com/hong-kong...entertainment/
Seems its PRC overlords aren't so concerned it is slipping towards shutting down entirely.

I think the end is here. Can not book a LAX - HKG flight past December 8th and it shows a YVR connection. This is on the HX website.
I am booked to fly LAX - BKK on December 14th with a return in January. This was booked in October, I figured they would at least make it through the holidays but now I doubt they make it through the week. In my 20 years of traveling, I have never experienced an airline going under that I am holding a ticket on. Any predictions on what will happen? Refund? Re-accommodation?
