May I suggest that it be co-moderated by CameraGuy and ozstamps, and only when there is complete agreement between the two of them, any action should be taken!

Brilliant concept, attorney28. In all seriousness, there is probably no better solution for truly effective moderation than establishing a team for each forum that consists of folks with very different basic points of view and requiring them to consult, whenever possible, prior to moderating posts.

Might also be a way to unite some long-time adversaries.

Punki, good thought; that would surely change the way Omni is currently censored, oops, moderated.

Is this a joke?

Or has someone not visited ORP in the last few weeks?

I'd tread carefully, killer.

I am not willing to debate the merits of appointing a member who has had at least one lifetime ban, at least 3 suspensions and numerous warnings. To me, those factors should equate to a lifetime ban without parole. NOT, a position as a moderator.

As for forcing moderators to agree on actions, this is a very poor idea. Randy has complete faith in his moderators and there are moderation guidelines in place. There is no need for the inevitable delay associated with such a policy.

In my opinion, the second guessing and personal attacks on the hard working moderators needs to stop.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't you have a suspension as well?

So how many suspensions does a member need to have before you would not be willing to debate the merits of appointing that member anymore? 1? 2? 3?

The Abridged Version of a Moderator?

The Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York cannot become a moderator because it has the second-longest suspension in history...

Moderation requires quick decisions and a "team" that gets along well. They don't need to have the same viewpoints (it actually helps if they don't), but I don't think I would want to participlate on a team where members actively dislike each other (the team falls apart, and nothing gets done).

Maybe "couples counseling"?

I was thinking that working together would help them learn to like each other. They both have some very good qualities that I am sure they would learn to respect and appreciate if they started to work together.

I'm not a killer and still feel free to voice an opinion and yes I have visited ORP often in the last few weeks

Yes, you are correct that I did indeed EARN a lifetime suspension. During the time of that suspension, I NEVER posted to FT. Randy, very graciously, paroled me after about a year.

Since my parole, I have received exactly ZERO warnings or suspensions. You see, I do not think it is in good manners to return a kind act with a poke in the eye.

The member that you , in your infinite wisdom, suggested I co-moderate with, has had at least 2 suspensions and at least 1 warning since getting the SAME parole. That was in addition to said member posting under a number of handles during the time of the suspension.

I ask you, do you honestly think that the other member is as suited to be a moderator as I am?

I am not willing to debate the merits of appointing a member with a member who apparently routinely turns off his humor and sarcasm detectors .

Seriously, I have no idea. In case you missed it, my suggestion was not entirely serious .
