request to close another sex thread on OMNI
Todays thread topic is:
poll: do you approach sex headfirst?
The discussion is on oral sex. Oh, excuse me - "head" .
I find it offensive, don't see why OMNI needs an age disclaimer and why we have decided to make FlyerTalk an adult site.
I'm not willing to surrender this website to these people.

Thumper, have you emailed the moderators? IMHO, if not that should be your first step before posting on Randy's board?

I tried to post on the headfirst thread, but found I wasn't able to. Is there a reason why?

Funny thing that I found this thread by a link posted by Gaucho.
Why don't you guys email us instead of posting questions in here.
In the future, please let us know that way.

Since you feel the need to challenge me directly, I will reply.
You have been a member of FlyerTalk for as many years as I. You are aware of the many trials and tribulations associated with this site. People will go as far as they are allowed. Unfortunately, most people will continue to push those limits as long as they believe that there is someone else looking who will say "attaboy".
I like FlyerTalk, and have recommended it to my college age children as a good source of travel information. I have no intention of surrendering this site to posters who feel they want to drag this site down. If you feel you're amongst a group that believes otherwise, then we are in direct opposition. I have not labeled you as such, but I think it niave of you to believe that I am the only person on this site who felt that there was only one direction the thread on "headfirst foreplay" could have gone.
As to the others chiding me for using this particular forum - I'm not exactly certain who appointed you hall monitor. Shouldn't you be spending your time phoning the police about people who didn't shovel their sidewalk after the last snowstorm? We have moderators, who for all you know contacted me privately and courteously with the same message. As if it were their job or something - and not yours.

Thumper, I emailed the mods about it and they took care of it quite expeditiously. The system in place works.

So if you can help me keep someone in OMNI from mouthing off about religion or politics or the topic of moderators from becoming a debate, I just may have some free moments to complete what I've started. And there is still that Starwood Lurker question to answer (hint: I'm fine with restricted bonus offers being discussed on FlyerTalk... with explanation)(...)
Again, more later but I must resolve a few issues with some members of FlyerTalk who didn't take their nap today.</font>

And as a sidenote, chances are, if your children are in college, they would not be shocked by a little thread like that.

No comment. What the hell is going on in OMNI ???
It all began when ScottC closed the long game and association threads. Now the fun is no longer there. And most of the new other topics that are IMO off the FT limit...

Not a promising development.
Edited for spelling!

Please note that Randy has asked that the moderators be e-mailed for these requests, rather than complaints posted in this topic.
That seems like the most sensible way to do it, IMO.

I'm not sure why "fun" is compromised when a savvy moderator, in concert with the other moderators, decides to help preserve the integrity of everyone's posts by prudently splitting -- not simply closing, but splitting and beginning a second thread exactly where the first left off! -- threads that have been shown to possibly lead to corrupted threads and slowdowns.

Everybody at WebFlyer and FlyerTalk have a plethora of other issues (the migration of FlyerTalk to vBulletin, the Freddies, etc. please refer to the link that I have provided above for more information) with which they need to be concerned. Let us please be patient, cooperative, respectful and considerate by not bothering them and inundating them with such trivial issues that are little more than counterproductive at best.
