Can we have a bigger reply box?

Randy and/or tech team

Can the size of the Message box in the Reply section be increased? It would make reviewing a message much easier and there seems to be a lot of unused space to the right of the edge of the box?

Thanks

from former discussions/replies: I guess, that this too is just what the current standard soft-ware offers and would need some 'hacking'.

And in the past, I also learned from the FT-techs, that hacking is not only time consuming (and seldom free from errors), but also unfriendly for future automatic upgrades of the standard-software.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Rudi, it should not be too hard to do this mod actually. I think all they need to do is to edit the page template for replies to change the WIDTH attribute on the textbox. There's no changes to the software required.

It shouldn't be too hard though you'd need to watch out for old/low screen resolutions.

Rudi: "future automatic upgrades" of the board software haven't been released for this version since late 2000. All the modification on the board were implemented by Randy's staff.

I don't know if it's useful to devote resources to changing this version when a new version is on the horizon.

It should be a fairly simple change, not even deserving the term "hack." The source HTML for the reply page looks like the box is set to a fixed width of 45 characters. It can be set to a percentage width, in which case it would scale to the window size.

Another option would be for people to submit shorter replies...

I would like a larger box. Doesn't need to be taller, wider would do just fine.

What about a preview option? The current box would be fine if I could preview what I was about to post and fix the fat-finger mistakes before submission.
