Having a moderator would almost guarantee such a lively community disappearing

as a moderator , may I suggest one possibility - a "limited" moderator being appointed for the AC forum if that jived w / members wishes. that way egregious assaults on the TOS could be addressed but the off topic banter that makes it so special could remain.

Where else could I have easily found out how to get the best room at the best rate fr Banff Springs??

regarding the thread topics 'problematic' NNN and NNN's 'harassments' ... I believe that the two directly involved FlyerTalkers really waste their and our time with their ungoing/fruitless discussion here.

Please just go on discussing the topics 'at hand' in the AC and/or OMNI-Fora, and leave out any name-callings and 'adjectivs' in connection with any FlyerTalker and concentrate on the real issues worth discussing (and reading by other FlyerTalkers).

Rudi, in case you are wondering, posting this here is not my idea. I followed a recommendation from a TalkTeam member. Do you think I like this? Not a single bit. While you may not feel this is warranted, let me also remind you that you are not me and you haven't followed this closely either. If you don't understand what's going on, I don't think your opinion can be complete.

Nevertheless, I am happy to tell you that I really don't care at this point. I come to realize many senior members of FT has left and gone to elsewhere in some more interesting places which I am sure you are aware too. I think leaving is the best option since this place is really not what it used to be and frankly, I don't have much feelings for much of it anyhow. Someone just e-mailed me that the person with the least posts on this thread is actually a troll who has another handle and asked me not to respond. It's things like this, Flyertalk's inability to deal with trolls and personal attacks that is at the detriment of Flyertalk. I will continue to visit selected forums in Travel and Miles section where it is worth visiting and where there are responsible moderators to maintain order but for some others, I can care less. I also know from someone whom I just contacted that Randy is currently away on a Do but it really doesn't matter anymore whatever actions he takes.

It's sad that Flyertalk has become this, so many people leaving and stop contributing but you know what, at the end, that's not a big deal and who cares, it's not my loss, I will just keep whatever I know to myself and to people whom I know are trustworthy.

Actually I am not attacking anyone. I rarely post on the AC Forum so I know not of what you speak.

I had stayed out of this thread, but after reading this comment, I'm amazed at how "open minded" you are too.

Don't you think a more appropriate statement would have been something like, "there are some FT members who are determined to hound other FT members?"

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how harsh, vague, ill-thought out, etc. If you don't like it, look somewhere else.

He posted similar "lavender bunds" comments in OMNI today as well. I can only assume that that is supposed to be a derogatory or pejorative way of referring to a certain group of people. The homosexual equivalent of "colored" perhaps?
