Ideally, a TalkModerator would:
- Be familiar with the common FlyerTalk forum functions (such as posting a message, editing a post, registering, and using the Technical Help and FAQ links).
- Possess a broad interest in frequent traveler programs.
- Demonstrate a friendly and helpful nature.
- Have a high comfort level with FlyerTalk, the topics and the personalities of members.
- Be fluent in English (since that's the common language here).
- Be a longstanding member of FlyerTalk (greater than 1 year).

If anything, the misunderstanding followed Ferrari's lack of fluency in English (imho.)

In my oh so humble opinion:

Ralf's english ability and affable disposition have never been questioned on the KLM board
He would be the last moderator I would accuse of being heavy-handed!

Ferrari posted his problem in the WRONG FORUM. Simple as that. It would not matter which of the moderators in Community closed it down -- it was the CORRECT decision IMO.
I have yet to see ONE post from anyone here disagreeing with this, so where is the fuss?

I understood the word community to mean the following.
I assumed it was all the other BS on FT, this was and will be the only time I have posted in the Community thread, I always post in my own interest, Air Canada, where I might add we freely talk about everything, without the need for a moderator.
I think its because we are peace loving free speaking people that have a grip on life.
And for that reason I posted in the community forum, right or wrong, this is not real life and most of you need to take a step back from FT now and again.
I understand why ralfkrippner pulled it, though I feel it would have been easier to move it.
I have apoligies to ralfkrippner and he accepted my apoligy.
I consider this a closed item.
I am aware that some people on FT have the intent to drag things on to cause more of a reaction.
Those are known to themselves.
I don't really care who can speak english or not, it is totally irrelevant to FT.
Ozstamps does not even warrant a reply.

It sounds like everyone's clear now on the forum and the miscommunication, and the initial people involved have both apologized.
That's a great outcome if we can avoid any more "clarifications."
If any forum needs to be self-moderated, it's this one, since we lost it once before. If Randy has to close threads here, surely it won't take many to lose it again.
Thanks
