I've also had that problem, but the other way around. Some saved itin disappearing from my computer, but not from the server.

The planners been loading very slowly for the past few days, and at times, doesn't allow me to click the 'book now' button, even though the trip is complete and there are no problems.

It appears that they've added in a premium ecomony option. If a Y+ upgrade is possible on the carrier/sector, there is a check box which will change the booking class.

The tool appears to be charging UK APD for exempt tranfers.

Hi All,

New here, having problems booking my LONE4.
I thought I finally had my ITIN sorted tonight after several months of planning and tweaking, it took me past the quote and passenger details pages but it fell short of the purchase section (page 5).
Instead I repeatedly received this message each time I tried:

The following error(s) occured

* We are not able to confirm your selected flights. Please resubmit your request. (15079)
My flight path:

LHR-CAI-AMM-HKG-MNL-BNE-AKL-USH--USH-AEP-BUE--AEP-SAO--GRU-LIM-MAD-LHR

Suspected it may have been due to 3 "stopovers" in my continent of origin (CAI, AMM & MAD) but the MAD flight is a 2 hour connection en route to LHR from LIM so it should not be counted as a "stopover" as it's less than 24 hours, right?

- ALL FLIGHTS ARE SHOWING AS AVAILABLE ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO BOOKING STAGE -

Getting desperate to book this as some of the flights are booked out for large periods of time even though the itin doesn't kick off until October. I will have to my modify my travel plans to suit, but if I wait any longer I could be in a spot of bother!

User error or bug?? Anyone know what I can do?

rhythmbug Apr 13, 2010 5:54 pm

Sorry to double post but I spotted something unusual about the South American flight path. I copied direct from the OW email and unless I'm reading incorrectly it should have looked more like this, changes in bold:

LHR-CAI-AMM-HKG-MNL-BNE-AKL-SCL--USH-BUE-SLA--BUE-IGR--SAO-LIM-MAD-LHR

??

Kiwi Flyer Apr 13, 2010 10:52 pm

You appear to have too many flights in South America (even allowing for extra purchased ones).

Note also any EZE/AEP surface sectors count towards your total sector count.

I think maybe it's just notation form. I make the itinerary to be LHR-CAI-AMM-HKG-MNL-BNE-AKL-SCL//USH-AEP-SLA//AEP-IGR//GRU-LIM-MAD-LHR which looks okay to me.

Hi Gardyloo,

Your interpretation is correct, the double dashes represented surface sectors, there are 4 internal South American flights on my itin:

USH-BUE-SLA//BUE-IGR//SAO-LIM

Has anyone else made it through all the way to payment stage and then got knocked back? I'm still confused about the muddled up flight path....even though the individual flight details read correctly.

update

I have spoken with BA - it appears the OW tool is showing seats for LAN flights that are not actually available.

The flight in question was USH-BUE, which apparently has no seats from January through to the end of Feb?!

I've changed the flight to FTE-BUE but to my dismay the tool is giving me the same error.

BA rep is going to call me back tomorrow, but the travel prospects aren't looking overly positive for my very eagerly anticipated Patagonian trip :td:

Curacao (CUR) flights not showing

It keeps saying "no flights found" for CUR, even though EF shows two daily AA flights MIA-CUR with wide-open availability. I'm looking at Feb '11 (although I'd actually be flying those sectors in Sept/Oct '11). Does the on-line tool have something against CUR?

I'm trying to plan an ex-JNB DONE5. I'm thinking of JNB-SYD-BNE (for Byron Bay)-SYD-HKG-NRT-ORD-SAN-DFW-MIA-CUR-MIA-(somewhere)-JNB. I was hoping to do Palermo, but I can't find any flights except one LGW-CTA, which would burn two surface sectors LHR-LGW.

Kiwi Flyer Apr 16, 2010 12:08 am

Is this in the "Plan" option of the tool, or the "Plan & Book" one? If the latter try again using "Plan" - if you can get it from plan but not plan & book that means there is no availability. If you can't get it for either then it may be due to connection times, married segment logic or an error.

I know personally that CUR has been successfully booked using the tool in the past.

Tool is mis-pricing fare when there is a Europe-S.W. Pacific surface segment

Hopefully there is a lurker who will read this
because, IIRC, the tool used to have an enquiry form but I cannot find it now

The fare rules allow a surface segment between TC2 and TC3

However, if the surface segment is between Europe and S.W. Pacific, then the tool includes an extra continent in the fare.

Examples I have tried are:
Europe-Sth Am-SWP (surface) Europe - prices as 4 continents when only 3
Europe-Sth Am-Nth Am-SWP (surface) Europe - prices as 5 when only 4
(if the surface segment is between S.W. Pacific and Africa, the prices are correct; expect it would also be correct if the surface segment is between Asia and either Europe or Africa, but didn't check this))

Update: found the on-line enquiry form (in the FAQs). Have submitted an enquiry

pandaperth Aug 30, 2010 6:23 am

Still waiting for a response from One World to my on-line enquiry regarding the tool pricing up my 3-continent itnerary as a 4-continent fare

Have sent them a new enquiry - asking if they are going to respond to my first enquiry:rolleyes:

pandaperth Sep 22, 2010 9:04 pm

Well, I never got a reply to my on-lines enquiries - so I tried emailing various addresses such as [email protected] and got a response that way

Seems there's some sort of glitch that caused my online enquiries to not be received, while others' are received - this is being investigated

The response I received to my enquiry - about being charged a 4-continent fare for a 3-continent itinerary that has a SWP-Europe surface segment - is as follows:
Dear pandaperth
(snip)
The pricing is correct. Even if you choose a surface sector between Australia and Europe/Middle East, it is considered to you a similar route as a flight would and deemed to go via Asia. Therefore your itinerary example is considered a 4-Continent itinerary even so you do not stop in Asia.
(snip)
I have responded as follows:
  • The One World Explorer rules state “The fare to be charged is determined by the number of geographic continents in the itinerary including the continent of origin.”
  • You are claiming that there is a “hidden” rule that adds an extra continent in the special circumstance of a surface segment between the South West Pacific and Europe
  • So perhaps the hidden rule should be made public
  • I also consider this hidden rule to be unreasonable because:
  • More continents cost more – presumably because the expensive flights on an itinerary are the intercontinental flights, yet the itinerary I used as an example has only 2 intercontinental flights, and you say I should be charged as if it had 4 intercontinental flights
  • The tool does not add an extra continent for other allowed intercontinental surface segments – for itineraries originating in the South West Pacific a single intercontinental surface segment is allowed between either TC1-TC2 or TC1-TC3
I have priced up an itinerary originating in Australia and with a surface segment between South America and Africa
Now the only way to fly between South America and Africa on a One World Explorer is via Europe
(which is similar to the only way to fly from the South West Pacific to Europe is via either Asia or Africa)
BUT the tool does NOT add an extra continent
(the itinerary was South West Pacific --> North America --> South America --> Africa --> South West Pacific; thus 4 continents)

pandaperth Nov 2, 2010 6:19 am

The 'hidden rule' that I referred to in the previous post is no longer hidden:(

The wording in the Flight Application has now been changed to prevent crafty folk from including surface sectors and escaping the extra continent charge for travel between Europe/M.East - SW Pacific.

TRAVEL BETWEEN SWP AND EUROPE/MIDDLE EAST ON A
SINGLE FLIGHT NUMBER/ OR BY SURFACE IS CONSIDERED TRAVELLING
SWP-ASIA-EUROPE THROUGH THREE CONTINENTS.

So at least there is certainty
that the (admittedly esoteric) possibility of having a SWP-Europe surface segment would thus allow an xONE3 to include SWP
is NOT possible

allset2travel Nov 4, 2010 12:28 pm

OW browser freezes up.

After I completely entered the itin for a RTW and have checked availability, I tried to print the itin to pdf (using Abrobat). The entrie screen would gray out with a message saying something to the effect of "flash failure" and asks to "report" it.

Is this a bug?

I know and I can use the "download pd, but it doeos not contain flight & terminal info.
