CX HKG-BOM can be removed again :(
CX HKG-BKK should be (some flights) [less than 1 per day] |

MIA-MAD goes back to 763 (J and Y only) starting 26 Aug 2009 |
BA LHR-CPT is now some flights too.
The seasonal flights BA42/43 won't have F this (southern hemisphere) summer. |
Thanks everyone. OP is updated to here.

other AA equipment downgrades (--)/upgrades (++) this winter:
Buenos Aires-Montevideo (763++>772) 19NOV09 Chicago-Brussels (772-->763) 26AUG09 JFK-Buenos Aires (763++>772) 19NOV09 JFK-Sao Paulo-Rio de Janeiro (772-->763) 19NOV09 Miami-Santiago (763++>772) 19NOV09 Raleigh-Heathrow (772-->763) already happened Boston-Heathrow (772-->763) already happened?? |
Looks like JL are discontinuing F from NRT to DEL, SIN and BKK from Oct 25.
It's getting harder and harder to use an AONEx within Asia. Happy Travels. |
That's a real shame. Does that mean that if I book my AONEX now while that route still offers First, does JL then have to honour First class even at their expense? (ie. NRT-HKG-SIN). Or would they simply say stiff sh8T, you now fly biz.
|
If there was a reasonable alternative you should be offered that, however there may not be any in which case you fly business and *should* be given some compensation for the invol downgrade.
|
That is only the case if you already have a flight booked in first after Oct 25. If you book a ticket now, you cannot book the flight in first, so you fly in biz.
A workaround might be to use the QF codeshare of the JL NRT-SIN flight, as that still seems bookable in first. |

Haven't checked the other suspension routes either. Anyone else have any news about the QF plans? |

It looks as though CX has switched HKG-BOM from 744 to 343, so no F on that route any longer.
(There go another two segments of my AONE5; now down to 7 out of 16 in F.) Happy Travels. |

But I find it very hard to justify AONEn tickets now that CX has clearly demonstrated than it has no commitment whatsoever to regional F. |
New CX route HKG-MXP with F
CX is starting HKG-MXP from March 2010 with 777-300ER.
Is this the first new route with F for some time? Limited use for AONEx though, as I don't think there is any other OW flight from MXP with F. Happy Travels. |
American Airlines
Aircraft type All mainline aircraft type, but 757, A300 & MD-80 first class are of poor standard. Note within North & Central Kiwi, You mentioned that 777 first class is of poor standard, I was looking at the ORD to LHR flight, I have never flown AA first class, but fly UA first class often, can you compare the two for me. Thanks. |

CX F to AKL is seasonal and operates in NZ summer, not winter.
The seat maps show J beginning at row 11 on the 343s, so I suspect CX will be either allowing CX elites to sit up there (as they did when I was last on it) or else will close F entirely. Pity. |

I thought so too but looking at EF there are no F seats during December or January - didn't look before or after.

Pity. cathaypacific.com online booking/schedule tools show 34B for this route. The online booking tool shows no firstclass equiped for HKG-AKL in December and January. |
BA
I've attempted to update the list of BA routes with F class in this thread, specifically here. Any corrections very welcome.
|
Looks as though CX is cancelling F service to ICN (Seoul) for the winter.
Last flight with F seems to be Nov 23; resumes with one flight per week in mid-March. That's the fourth segment of my AONE5 that CX has downgraded from F to J with no compensation. Happy Travels. |

CX548/549 HKG-HND is a daily 744 with F
CX542/543 HKG-HND has F depending on the day of the week... |
CX751 BKK-DEL is now sold as 3-class daily 5/16-10/29.
The aircraft generally (always?) has F seats but has been sold as 2-class in the recent past with the F section closed or offered to elites/full-fare J pax with business service. This is a recent change as when I booked a July ticket back in February F was unavailable but I was able to change the ticket today. |

That flight is HKG-BKK-DEL. HKG/BKK is one of the routes most subject to a/c substitution, so don't count on anything other than the possibility of last minute a/c substitutions. Just checked a few random dates in June and found 2 class 333s operating this flight.

It was a 744 when I flew it, though I have also flown CX751 HKG-BKK in the winter schedule when it was scheduled as a longhaul 333 and had it swapped for the shorthaul config.

QF
SYD-EZE is no longer, replaced by SYD-SCL, now on a 3-class 744 (J/W/Y)...no more F. |
BA are starting a LHR-ICN route late this year utilising a 777 with F cabin.
|
Time to update with MH F routes. A380 KUL-LHR. CDG-KUL starting soon.
I believe still SYD-KUL on, but about to end. |
I've updated to post #79 but I expect there are lots of other changes to be made. All help is appreciated.
