It will be interesting to see what happens when RJ joins oneWORLD, they currently have a twice a week flight from AMM to CMB (redeye) and return (breakfast).
I suspect the CMB prices may start to go up ...

I got my ticket reissued at LHR and the cost was:
Fare differential (taxes) 20.00
Change charge 64.00
Local service fee 25.00
Total 109.00
A follow-on question I have is that my final flights are NRT-LHR-MCT-LHR,LGW-GIB. I will stop-over in the UK (continent of origin) on the way back from NRT. When I return from MCT I am supposed to transfer from LHR to LGW then fly onto GIB to complete the itinerary. No stop-over is allowed. Do I really have to do the final LGW-GIB flight or can I just end the itinerary in London?
Thanks

A RTW is a dangerous ticket to skip the last leg on. Since, according to the rules, for not flying completely around the world you may be charged the difference of the sum of all the one way fares (ie lots) and the RTW fare.
Not sure whether airline will pick up on it and actually charge you. But the potential charge is significant enough that personally I wouldn't want to try it on.

Particularly on an e-ticket when the last leg has to happen within 4 hours I would regard this as a bit risky. It's quite a different matter on a paper ticket with several months validity left, particularly if open-dated.
Since a round trip to GIB is probably not much more expensive than a one way I would always buy it to pick up the ticket originally and just do a mileage run to GIB at the end.
