My guess is that unless you book through aa.com, the BA system does not know your elite status (the same problem that BA lounge dragons have trying to verify status?).

How did you add the frequent flyer number? Give them a call an remove n readd the number and the status should be obtained

My very limited experience with BA with op-ups is the opposite (Emeralds after BA Gold but before BA Silver). I've seen it happen this way and not as BA Blue before Emeralds, however this has been claimed fairly frequently on FT (generally by BAEC members, I suppose this myth helps to cushion the shortcomings of that program). Perhaps it happens during last-minute op-ups when closing a flight, but definitely not as standard BA procedure.

The experiences I am aware of also fit this general model in that they have upgraded other OW status members. Regardless, in regards to the complaint about it, there is nothing stated anywhere that says that people with OW status will be upgraded ahead of others. If they chose to upgrade people based on hair colour there would be no grounds for complaint

But grounds for voting with your feet and flying LH instead. With the messes at LHR these months, one after another, transiting FRA and MUC instead is looking a lot more attractive (and now LH is bidding to create a new hub at BCN, which will probably be accepted). LH has its own set of problems, but has steadily improved each year for the past 5 years and since the LX acquisition is becoming quite a competitor to BA.

Looks like shorthaul seat assignments may have been sorted out. As a OW Emerald , I was able to re-select 1A ( after ticking the box agreeing that I was suitable for an exit row )

CE first two rows (A & C) are now available to OW E's again. I'm back to where I was a month ago before all this BA BS started.

You are correct! ^ ^

My CE bookings (J) are now fixed. ET (Y) is another matter however.

Looking like some of my e-mails (and yours if you sent them) to BA Nick (refer to the thread on the BA board) have resulted in a fix.

Let's hope they have a fix for ET soon as I must admit I have quite a few ET bookings coming up. :o

I STRONGLY urge those of you with long haul bookings to check your seats there as unfortunately my upcoming long hauls are all with QF rather than BA to see what their status is.

The thread with the info on how to fix your bookings with BA can be found here:

For what it is worth, this thread is now the 7th most read thread on the OneWorld forum to date, so whilst not many of you are contributing, it seems many of you out there are certainly reading this thread!

Yet another update.... More official news from BAEC:

Kind Rgds
Lyndsay

Lyndsey has confirmed that us OW elites should have access to the seats so again I suggest all those still having problems (I know all my economy bookings are still not correct) to e-mail BA at the e-mail addressed I published above which was given out by BA Nick. Hopefully this will iron out all the problems shortly!

oneworld Ruby elites?

Has anyone heard if oneworld Ruby elites get any pre-seating allowance? I'm AAdvantage Gold, but have not been able to get any answers from BA regarding this.

I wondered this; with the wording of the policy it would seem not

FIRST Passengers

Customers holding fully flexible tickets booked in J/C/W/Y booking classes

Travelling with infants

The above customers can choose their seat at the time of booking and change at any time until they have checked in.

best thing to do to make sure ( I would say) is to phone and hold a test booking; make sure that your ruby status is reflected and then see whether the website will allow you to select seats

Dave, what page is that from? The page I normally read on ba.com (and I just checked again) says this (note the absence of any oneworld reference):

I went into Manage My Booking for one of my bookings , clicked on seating and then the link "View our seating policy". I then copied the policy details from there

As the booking was made by a travel agent, the Executive Club say they can't make any changes.

I have "refreshed" my FF number in MMB to no avail, and there is no option to delete and reinsert it.

I hope this is not a consistent problem when I have to book through my corporate travel agent.:(

Phone BA and ask them whether they can see your status in the booking; if they cannot, then I would suggest contacting the agent and getting them to remove it from the booking ( and not to add it on future bookings ) and then either phone and add it ( then they can verify status ) or use MMB since it will then allow you to add a number

If you go to checkmytrip , does it show the FF number to be in there as

British Airways - AAxxxxxx
