AA in my LONE4 ticket

Hi there

I've just received my LONE4 tickets, and my AA number is not written down on them. I told BA the number and they told me no problem, but today I've seen my whole bunch of tickets and there's no AA number on them.

Does it mean I won't earn miles with these ticket or it hasn't got to be written down on the paper???

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

I'd like to add that I've only been sent the boarding passes, one ticket for each flight. I suppose it's normal, but any feedback on this will be helpful as well. It seems that I won't have to do any check-in, which is welcomed cause I'll travel with a carry-on pack...

If you have any status with AA (your profile does not say so) call up the BA call center and have them insert the number again so in the unlikely event of a opup you are taken into account.

I found that while done at buying, the number seems to got lost on the way; but the call center call fixed it.

Just make sure they are on your _boarding_ passes.

Are you sure you've been sent boarding passes and not tickets? If you log into aa.com and enter the booking reference (PNR) you should be able to add your AAdvantage account number to the booking.

well, the number of AA figures in the reservation at the BA web (it's BA the company I've got the tickets from). An yes, I do have only one passenger ticket (boarding pass) for each flight, I suppose that's right but I'd love some feedback on that. I'll call the officer tomorrow to be sure they've sent the complete stuff...

They are not actual boarding passes. A few airlines (BA and CX for example) use ticket coupons which look like boarding passes, unlike QF which still uses the really thin paper coupons. The boarding pass style ones make for a really thick wad when you are on a xONEn!

As long as your FF number is in the reservation it doesn't matter that it's not on the ticket coupon, but as has already been pointed out, always ask at check in to make sure it appears on your real boarding pass.

I am guessing the opening got cardboard ticket coupons. AA uses the same cardboard for boarding passes. The easiest way to tell if it is a boarding pass or not is the boarding pass will have something like the following on the left hand side

Code:
********************
*                  *
*  BOARDING PASS   *
*                  *
********************

I recently finished a 20 segment journey with these BP like tickets issued in CMB. Quite an impressive wad of cardboard.

When checking in for each AA flight, the AAgent took the relevent ticket out and stapled the AA BP for the flight to it. These tickets and BPs were all the same size, shape and type of card.

When boarding, each ticket was removed from the BP and taken away. The BP was then scanned as normal.

A word of warning about the AA number on the boarding pass of tickets issued by BA. In Sept, I had BA reissue the last four segments of my RTW- all on BA flights and naturally they entered the BAEC number on the tickets and in the computer. I later decided that I wanted to credit three out of the four flights to my AA FF account and so on check-in asked the check-in agent to overwrite the BA number. They all claimed to do so ("it's in the computer now") and in each case, the reissued BP showed my AA number, not the BA. For some reason, the FF credit for the flight appeared on-line in my BA account- not my AA account. After a couple of attempts at having this reversed, I was told that I would first have to deal with BA to have it taken out of their system before AA could do anything. At this point, I decided it did not make enough difference to persist.

Well I talked to the office and they told me they're just BP style but actually they're tickets. I show them at the check-in before each flight and they'll cut the right corner, to give me the boarding pass. They're just flight coupons. At last I think this is a more comfortable way for the traveller to be on the road with this thin amount of tickets than going with a thick bunch in the pocket for the long haul.

They've also confirmed that my AA number is on the booking, they tell is no problem that it's not written down on the ticks...

thanks to you all, I was a little bit worried with that!!!
