If you have any status with AA (your profile does not say so) call up the BA call center and have them insert the number again so in the unlikely event of a opup you are taken into account.

I found that while done at buying, the number seems to got lost on the way; but the call center call fixed it.

Just make sure they are on your _boarding_ passes.
