Nowadays the 4 BA metal flights are actually a problem as my AONE-expiration is now in May and so is my membership year expiration. If I start a new AONE as I'm likely to do and do that before my membership year changes, then it's no problem. Otherwise it is as the BA schedule for HEL really sucks. A Friday afternoon BA HEL-LHR arrives so late I won't make it to the pub before 9 o'clock leaving a pitiful 2 hours for warm beer... And the morning flight 7:45 would mean waking up before 5 o'clock. No way.

Upgrades : Once again, as a QF Platinum, I was upgraded 2 out of the 4 legs of the itinerary. I say 'once again' as EACH AND EVERY TIME I have flown an itinerary on IB with a connection (as I have done on one occasion in each of the last 4 years) they have upgraded me on the shorter flight on both the outbound and the inbound. 100% record. These have always been on cheapest-available Y tickets, and on the first occasion I was not even Plat. but QF Gold (OW Sapphire) !
Is this an unpublished benefit of QF status when flying on IB ?!?
And what was so amazing was that this time the flight in question on the return was on BA metal and yet I was still upped at the gate. (Have flown UK-Europe on BA down the back many many many times in the last few years and never once been Op-Upped, so must have been the IB factor at work).

Actually it is 600K over two years, thus 300K per year which is therefore 100K in F per year.http://www.miles-and-more.com/online...nodeid=1566361
FWIW, QF and BA would only require approx 40K miles in F to get their top tier as they are both generous programmes in terms of gaining status when flying F. SEN in F would only need 33K miles if a non-German resident.
AA seems much more generous to flyers travelling in Y compared to both QF and BA, yet when travelling in F, EXP requires 66K.
