DONEx: EZE-CCS w/LA560 any experience?

I booked another DONE with BA US yesterday and had little converstation regarding this once a week (monday) service between EZE and CCS with the agent. It's a bit mysterious flight as it carries the same flight number from EZE to CCS via SCL. The EZE-SCL leg is coach only service and then from SCL with another aircraft with 2-class service on to CCS. My question: has anyone been able to book this as a single segment so that SCL-CCS is in J? They were willing to book it in coach all the way but not so that SCL-CCS was in J...then it's automatically 2 segments...any info would be highly appreaciated.

You are stuck. There is no way around this, they cannot book Y as J so it has to be 2 segments. BTW, I've booked SCL-CCS several times but always cancelled due to the political instability at CCS as I couldn't risk being stuck there for a week or 2 or 3.

No personal experience with that particular flight, but yes, what you were told is correct, based on a similar situation regarding FC between EZE and LAX via SCL (there are several posts on this subject in this forum).

Thanks for the insight. Yes, we are well aware of the situation in Venezuela and might as well subsitute this with another location (Equador or Columbia). Sorry if I asked for something that has been discussed previously.

Cheers

FWIW, I have been to all three and I would *easily* choose Quito or Bogota over Caracas. Although there are a few things to do and see (Sabana Grande, a museum or two, Angel Falls with a bit of travel), I personally think that the others offer quite a bit more to see and do. They also seemed safer, imo.

I had originally planned on taking LA560 EZE-CCS, but the lack of D seats meant that I worked around it.

What I ended up doing was catching a bus from Buenos Aires Retiro station----acutally very close to AEP to Mendoza. In Mendoza I changed to a second bus for the trip to Santiago, as I couldn't find a direct service EZE-SCL. First bus was a AndesMar bus, can't remember which level of service they called it, but similar seats to a business class (non-flat) plane seat (but no IFE). Second bus was a CATA bus, and much more like what I'd consider a "normal" bus seat.

I was able to work it so that the longer trip (to Mendoza) was over night. 3-4 hrs in Mendoza and then the trip to Santiago was during the day. Some excellent views of the Andes if they interest you.

Approx cost $US100, duration including transit in Mendoza 28hrs or so.
Positives: Cheap, Los Liberadores Pass, Maximise South America D Sectors.
Negatives: Can't buy the international ticket outside of Argentina & LONG time with no IFE.

I understand most people would be more willing to just take a separate flight EZE-SCL, but thought I would mention this alternative.

From SCL I did end up flying LA560 in D as one of my sectors.

Oh and I don't plan on visiting Caracas again, as the city itself it pretty awful nowadays, and there isn't a great deal to do for more than a day. However I do plan on flying into CCS again, just going to the beaches/islands or Amazon instead of Caracas.
